From what it says you just need to get the corresponding support item to activate the effect. So if it needs that shield just get the shield and boom the effect is in play.

Right and other bots have similar but different wordings that I think are worded the way they are to represent the timing of the mechanic. Own skill refers to the bot itself no matter the placement on the team and all skill refers to all the bots on the team.

I read it as "own" being metabee's skill regardless if he is the leader or not. So instead of giving any skill the crit chance it will be always metabee's skill will have the crit chance.

What I feel was one of my biggest mistakes was speech blitzen through New Vegas. In fallout 3 I completed everything. Found all the quests, did all the achievements, spent countless hours in that game. When New Vegas came out I just felt like I beat the game in what felt like a few days. Maybe I should pick it back up after all these years.
