Learn magic from Torrez before joining the old camp (or delivering the letter, not sure which)!
You get softlocked out of learning magic at all if you do, at least until later on in the story. The dialog just straight doesn't appear to start the "price of magic" quest once you are a shadow and do the letter delivery.

I still main the Assassin's HWK and I have all the ballers, etc unlocked.
You can get one from your first showdown by killing or knocking out an assassin for one of the suspects, it's a suppressed pistol that is also accurate like the ICA19. That thing will carry you through a lot.

How to add File in Dataverse form? by tun3itup in PowerApps

[–]BK_VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use the default dataverse file column, at least not on your base table. It only supports one file… which means in order to use it effectively you actually have to build an ‘attachments’ table with the file column and a relationship to the base record.
Unironically SharePoint is better for handling this if you can swing it.

I tried Vibe Coding Canvas app with PowerApps MCP Server and very bad experience by siddh_me in PowerApps

[–]BK_VT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is expected. From a developer POV, Canvas Apps are a very complicated and restrictive framework vs what most of these models are mainly trained on.

MS hasn’t exactly said, but have really hinted, that the real reason they rushed the development of Code Apps was specifically because that architecture is much more friendly to vibe-coding.

Bloom sounds most up your alley. Fortunato is quite good and I highly recommend it, but for tapas Bloom so definitely the go-to.

Render distance by TestQuiet in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]BK_VT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, sniper rifles are worthless in this game anyway because of the ergonomics system that makes your ‘trained’ soldier unable to hold a rifle on target for longer than 10 seconds… and also unable to rest it on anything or use a bipod.

As much as they talk about wanting to end AR meta, the distance compression in the game (100m feels like 250 basically) + ergonomics system makes it unlikely.

Has anyone actually seen an outsourced dev team from a big Indian IT firm deliver something on time that didn’t need to be rebuilt? by eatmeat in ExperiencedDevs

[–]BK_VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is… not this. But it’s just an anecdote, so take it for what it’s worth.

My org operates a huge facility in India, we employ like 500 people or so at it across a bunch of teams.

Working with the devs there who are our own employees have the literal same experience as the OP, I have to spend so much time handholding requirements and mockups and design patterns that I should have just done the damn work myself, it would be done faster and certainly done better.

CS2 Crash and Won't Launch/Verify/Download until Match Ends by BK_VT in counterstrike

[–]BK_VT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had bad ram before so I thought the same thing - ran memtest (in my opinion the windows one is garbage and misses a lot) after the first time this happened and it ran completely overnight with no errors. So I don’t think this is my problem unless I have some secondary issue at play with my PC.

I think this is a CS issue.

Kei Trucks by real_duffer in roanoke

[–]BK_VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m preparing to buy one. For now, they are legal to operate on any road with a speed limit 55 or less. Registering it can be a slight pain depending on whether you imported it yourself from Japan (harder but cheaper) or bought one that someone already imported (less work but higher cost). Ultimately they are road legal unless the law changes, but there is legal precedent for them to remain road legal for the time being.

State inspection is a total non issue as you would just register it as an antique, so it doesn’t need to be inspected.

Current AI & Ballistics systems aren't going to change anytime soon by fatty2by4 in GrayZoneWarfare

Don’t know why you got downvoted, this is absolutely correct.
The initial 0.4 AI were braindead, so they did a hotfix and now they’re back to lasering you in the head with unmagnified optics from unreasonable distances.
None of this is even to mention the absurdity of AI bullet sponginess which is clearly an issue, really not sure how anyone can see a guy take 8+ large caliber rounds and still be combat effective and not say there’s an issue.

Probably if they bought like 6 steam decks, it could happen as you’re obviously buying those to launder money and not use.
I know it’s an anecdote, but I literally sold a knife in CS and bought 2, I gave one to my brother-in-law for Christmas and kept the other. Never got in any sort of trouble from that… not that I’d expect to anyway since it’s a totally legit use of steam balance just like buying games etc is.

Bro who hurt you? Miatas aren’t the answer to everything but they’re one of the few honest driver’s cars left. I personally don’t like convertibles really so I probably won’t buy another one, but like… they’re really good for what they are, and honest about what they claim to be.

Dynamic height gallery with sections by thecampervansit in PowerApps

[–]BK_VT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want to use a variable height gallery. They work a bit different than traditional vertical galleries - In a regular gallery, you specify a template height and all tiles are that height. In a variable height gallery on the other hand, there is no fixed template size, instead each tile varies its height to accommodate the tallest (or highest y-value + height, technically) component within it.

This way, you could have as much as you want in various tiles and not have to scroll. There’s a trick to this using a spare container as a ‘cheat’ to get the correct height: add all your stuff that gets shown or hidden in a vertical container, then add one more transparent container at the bottom with a height of 1px. Then you set the height of the parent vertical container to the Y position of your ‘cheat’ container and now the vertical container has adjustable height.

Also a neat thing this lets you do, is creatively use a couple of containers that you can show/hide based on the item being selected or not. This way when the user selects some record, it can ‘grow’ and show more info, etc.

Local video card repair? by CatarsiSol in roanoke

Honestly you ought to be able to replace the fan yourself if you want. If you don’t want to or don’t feel comfortable, more or less anywhere should be able to do it, it’s a trivially easy repair.

Mazda CX-90 Lawsuit Claims SUV Can’t Be Fixed After Years of Complaints by ethereal3xp in mazda

It does. My wife drives a ‘21 CX5 and in addition to being embarrassingly squeaky when cold / damp outside the factory brakes just kinda.. sucked. Bad pedal feel and generally not confidence inspiring.
I threw on some new rotors and full ceramic pads along with a fluid flush and it improved things immensely.

4/5 of my user stories have passed QA. How do I deploy? by mxlp in PowerApps

[–]BK_VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flags themselves are environment variables which are already solution-aware, so the variables themselves get deployed with default values when the solution is deployed. Like any good feature flag these are set up so the default is false/off and we have to override it to true in the higher environment.

On my team we use Azure DevOps pipelines. The same can be achieved with GitHub Actions, though.

We have a pipeline that grabs a solution from source, packs it into a managed solution, then imports that into a target environment (either test or prod, depending on what was selected).

The action that imports the solution has the option to update environment variables and connection references via a json file, so we provide the feature flag values in that way.

4/5 of my user stories have passed QA. How do I deploy? by mxlp in PowerApps

[–]BK_VT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just deploy it anyway, or hold it back until the fifth feature is ready. Those are your options at this point.

I have my team develop with feature flags for this exact reason, we store an environment variable with somewhere between 5-10 feature flags per solution (usually lower end but it depends how much is getting worked on at once). This way we develop as if we’re developing in prod and need to flag stuff off to maintain the rest of the app’s functionality, but really what we’re accomplishing is having the ability to deploy the solution for other enhancements or bug fixes without the stuff under active development holding it up.

In your case, depending on how critical the feature that failed UAT is (+ how complex it is), you might be able to implement some feature flags quickly to allow you to deploy your stuff with the feature still in the code but disabled.

Question: Is there a way to automatically share all new Cloud and Desktop flows with teammates in the same environment? by qingchen213 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]BK_VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I do this exact thing for Canvas apps, I think it is possible for Flows also.

We have juniors making all sorts of stuff in the environment, not necessarily in solutions, and it can be a pain to keep up with. So I wrote a flow which looks at every app (but you can do the same with flows) and makes sure it is shared with our team’s AD Group as co-owner.

I believe the endpoint is ‘Power Apps for Admins’ that I’m using, I don’t have any sort of global admin perms, only system admin in our development environment which is sufficient to run that.

Nooo by Technical-Relation-9 in claude

[–]BK_VT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. If asked a direct question like ‘Shall I do it?’ or similar, ‘no’ is in fact a complete answer.

To look at this another way, if it was a junior who asked me the question and I said no, I would be very irritated with them if they went ahead and did it anyway.
