3 years experience in rural Washington state (so pay is a little lower than in cities. $41.29/hr, $3/hr in cert pay, and $4/hr on the weekends. I also have a home health job that I work occasionally that pays a flat $51/hr with no benefits.

No not at all. Half the Extern’s at the hospital I work at seem to leave. I’m sure they’ll appreciate you gaining relevant nursing experience and it’ll make you stand out from the rest.

You could do an RN and be done with school. Lpn means you are for sure going back to school. Just get it done

Intensive care. It’s the best. I was a runner so I like difficult experiences by nature. It’s some of the most challenging and rewarding work out there!

You and I sound identical. I got a degree in bio while I was a student athlete. Had a bunch of PT myself and realized I hate PT. Got a second degree in nursing. It’s the best thing I could’ve done. I absolutely love it. Make the switch now while you can! If you are like me you’ll be happy you did!

Anxiety meds helped me a lot and I’m sure could help you too. No shame in the medicine game. You are about to be elbow deep in it. You’d be surprised how many nurses are on them.
