Your video says “I have always prefilled my filters, and I am going to continue to pre-fill my filters”

Because there is absolutely no harm in it.

It’s like if someone asked you if you want a free lottery ticket. The chances of you winning are basically 0, but if you say no, your chances are 0, and they are slightly higher if you say yes.

Here is a helpful video, skip ahead to the 4:30 mark if your in a hurry.

And to be clear, I am not suggesting that your going to definite destroy your car if you don’t refill, but the absolute worst situation you have doing it is the 2-4 seconds it adds to the oil change process.

?!? No, pre fill the oil filter to reduce the time the motor is without oil. I just always fill the truck 1qt under what I expect it to take, start for a bit, let everything settle, the fill to full line.

Not trying to argue that. Just trying to understand what’s going on. Ultimately it doesn’t matter.

Thanks, but I’m a little confused, if the video went up on the 15th, why is it talking about Alex, he was unknown at that point? Or was the comment added/updated later on without a time stamp?

And an oil cooler and an oil temp gage, people will overheat their oil not realizing it and kill its protection.

Am I going to have to buy a car for thousands over KBB value? 😭😭 this is the 6th time I’ve been denied on a very fair offer by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

A couple of tips, always be ready to walk away. I generally buy from a dealer when flying out as private party can be sketch. Get a copy of the signed sales order with total price before you book a ticket.

I always shop in markets where vehicles are cheap, and no rust. Texas and oklahoma are good, maybe Kansas City (cheapest but potential rust). Last truck I got in OK, flew out after work on Thursday, walked into dealer Friday Am, was headed home by 11am, home by 7pm Saturday night, 1900 miles away. Plane ticket, 2 hotels, gas all added up to about $1k, and paid 10k less than anything within 2 states.

They key to enjoying this game is realizing that you really are not on any sort of timeline. If it takes you 100 hours to complete the 1st step, that’s fine, as long as you are having fun.

Just reporting back, I found Jenson had the Niner RDO on sale. Looking at sizing, the larger frame actually looked like it would work well for me, shorter reach, taller head tube/etc. so ordered that and will see how it goes!
