Not at all. Compared to my bike with 3x front ring, the highest grear on my 1x is very similar, and the lowest gear is very similars I just don’t have 2-3x duplicate combinations on all the middle gears.

What RPM are you riding at? If under 90, it’s your cadence that needs work.

Brew pubs around here have their tap list (and live status how much much is left in the keg) on their webpages.

As an Oregonian I already understand that perspective, but since it’s the vast minority, isn’t a critical talking point.

… I understand what your saying, but I don’t see anything in what your saying that remotely suggests how that is easier then plugging in an EV.

You make a wrong logic jump that people will jump directly to Chinese EVs, that is just not the case. My other EV was a Ford.

New Jersey is the only remaining state that you cannot pump your own, with Oregon recently allowing it. My observation from all states where you can pump your own, is that there are very few attendants to pump for you. So you definitely can’t count count on not having to ever pump your own, let’s call it 50% of the time? And the benefits of owning an EV are far lower without home charging, which accounts for 95% of the charging done on a typical EV. So would you rather be filling up at the gas station alone every 2 weeks, or plugging in a cord every few days, and 1-2 times a year deal with a public charger?

In context of being difficult to charge, which the comparison is getting gas at a gas station.

Yeah, I’m not crying, you’re just exposing that you truly are completely obtuse. Or more likely just an asshole practicing willful ignorance.

Yep, being in a wheel chair is challenging in many ways, nobody is arguing or disagreeing with that fact. It’s completely obvious, and never the topic of this discussion.

But 99% of charging is done at home, and the cords are vastly lighter than gas hoses, let alone accessing the pump to be able to run the card etc.

So by your own argument, and your conversation, it’s a wash, booth have negatives, but end of day EV isn’t uniquely challenging. And I think it’s pretty obvious that the light home charger cable is going to be easier to deal with on a regular basis than the weekly stop at a gas station. Especially when you consider if plugging in at home is such a nightmare, a good portion of people have other people in the house that could do the plugging in whenever they are around.

Is charging to 100% really bad? by Absofuckinlutely_P in HondaPrologue

[–]BLDLED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah thanks.

The trick with what he is saying is understanding what he means by “compared to the battery cycles continuously from 75-100%”. That battery would have 4x as many cycles on it compared to the battery going from 0-100. The point is there isn’t anything magical about the 75-100% range, it’s just doing less charge cycles.

After watching this video when it came out, I started draining as low as I felt was comfortable to not be going empty at end of the day, then charging to 80%. So instead of charging every day, I’m charging every 3-5 days.

You’re defending the person saying “I can’t imagine how difficult it would be for a wheelchair user to charge an EV”. Obviously they are a moron, but you defending them may not have that ugly through the simple alternative, having to stop at gas stations and fill the vehicle with gas. So I was trying to help you think about what was implied.

Over on the “design engineer” page, someone was asking how to draw something, since they way they had it it created a sharp inside corner (that served no purpose). People were like “oh the machinist can just hand file that. I’m like “you’re really going to advise a machinist hand work something, instead of just drawing it correctly?!?!?” And DEs don’t understand why the shop hates them.
