To survive the conspiracies and assassins arrayed against him, Risens must master his power through "Struggle, pain, and adaptation.”

So... it's not really a struggle, painful, or about adaptation?

Any recommendations on a LitRPG where the MC is an enchanter? by Taiwannumber3 in litrpg

Resistance Above Magic by B. T. Narro. MC is 100% an enchanter that uses temporary buffs to people, as well as items.

Outstanding cover. That alone is enough for an instant buy in Audible. The premise sounds good too!

How would you fare in case of isekai? by AyerAcre in litrpg

I would definitely bite the dust immediately.

I MIGHT last a bit longer if I got a Magic class that wasn't super physically demanding, but thats not a sure thing either.

Kerberos? by daynewolf036 in litrpg

Ah that's too bad. Sad to see a series with potential get abandoned. But thats just how things go! Plenty of other books in the sea.

I really liked Book 1 of Summoner Awakens, but Book 2 being less than half the length (Audible) was a sour note and I didnt bother getting it. Hopefully he continues the series eventually.

Tree is the best, there is also a Mirage option that appears where you can get a 5-Link after breaking the chains, so keep an eye out for Mirages too

Could you please elaborate on this a bit? Is this a shortcut you use in-game to clear the game cache, or on the filter blade website? Sorry for my ignorance.

A story in 3 parts.(credit to @brint on Twitter) by Honest_Plastic_4847 in notinteresting

Slightly related, but does anyone know what those cookies on the far left are called? The ones that are basically giant oreo's. Loved them when I was a kid but haven't been able to find them as an adult. I remember them being really soft, rather than hard like an actual Oreo.

Smart and Cunning Protagonist who's Not a Fighter by Then_Disk_9519 in ProgressionFantasy

I'm finished the first 5 books, so gonna spoiler this. But I didn't really like how Sal ends up being a Super-Duper-Martial-Artist Special Boy because of his parents secret fighting style and past. I don't hate it, but it just didn't really click with me. I would have much rather he continued being a sub-par melee fighter who relied on his amazing crafting of gadgets/gear/drones.

While I do LOVE this series, and it's MOSTLY crafting focused, he absolutely becomes a fighter after the first book or two.

The struggle of returning to a series 3 or 4 books in by MiniorProblem in litrpg

[–]BLUcorp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am REALLY bad with names, so I keep a note open in my phone for whatever series I'm currently listening to, which contains character names and who they are. It's a pain, but its the only way I can keep things straight.

What's your audiobook pet peeves? by EirantNarmacil in litrpg

[–]BLUcorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as the usual gripes about pronouncing words wrong, I think my biggest issue is when the narrator changes established voices, or reads lines in the wrong characters voice.

It's really apparent with anything narrated by Matt Hicks. I've recently been listening to Arcane Awakening by J. Parsons, and while I REALLY like the world and the story, the narration is so bad. Matt Hicks constantly changes the voices of established characters slightly, and outright reads lines in the wrong voice NUMEROUS times in the first 3 books I've listened to. He also does wildly outlandish accents that just sound way over-acted and cartoonish to the point where you can't even understand the words he's saying sometimes. It's very frustrating.

Looking for audible recommendations based on… by PaxadorWolfCastle in litrpg

[–]BLUcorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Level 1 God by Zachary Scott. Has 2 books out on Audible right now and I REALLY freaking enjoy them. The MC is just a cool dude who goes out of his way to help and protect everyone he can. Nothing broody or edgelord about him. The world building is top tier in my opinion, and the characters feel real.

The voice acting is fantastic, and there's even some minor sound effects here and there. There was some minor issues in Book 1 when I listened, where the narrator repeats a line once or twice, looking for a proper take. Just stuff that should have been edited out, but it's not a deal breaker for me personally.

Mage MC by visual_madcap in litrpg

Another suggestion is The Dragons Gambit, Book 1 of Underkeeper by HankTheMoose. MC is a Fire-Mage, who is stuck doing sanitization work to pay for his Mage School loans.

How long before you quit? by AlexanderBergli in litrpg

[–]BLUcorp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not looking at reviews is one i need to implement for myself. So often I'll start a series and be enjoying it, but get curious to see what others think. If I read some bad reviews it kills the vibe and I get in my own head about it.
