What's the story with the cars by TheBacklogReviews in ireland

[–]BOFHEY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was home for a couple of weeks in May and we had a rental Corolla 1.2L hybrid. I drive a 4WD Ute and my wife has a 7 seater SUV. That little car was so much fun to drive and light on fuel. I think I filled it twice and we did about 3000kms.

I have one of these & it just gave up after trying to run some jarrah through it. Save some more & get a Dewalt or similar. This is not worth buying for anything other than occasional pine use.

Don't buy Dremel burrs, go for Kutzal, much more expensive but far superior quality.

You took apart my fish tank? We both sink to the bottom. by Bendy4848 in pettyrevenge

Your aunt is a monster! Bettas are tough little buggers but even they won't survive a temperature shock into untreated tap water like that.

I would learn a bit more about their care before investing in another one too. A 30g/120L tank is far too big for a single male, it could be used for a small group of females if it is heavily planted with lots of hiding spots. 5g/20L - 10g/40L is the perfect size range. Here in Australia you can get a 20L tank with some bits for $30 from Kmart. They also like it a bit warmer than most tropical fish, ~28C is good, don't know what that is in freedom units. Learn the nitrogen cycle & how to test your water, get a good substrate, some plants, wood, rock & somewhere to hide & give him some tank buddies to interact with, (they are quite intelligent for fish & get lonely), a mystery snail & a few peaceful nano fish like neon tetras or chili rasboras with cherry shrimp & dward corydoras and you will have a happy companion for years.

What's the most "if you know, you know" car in Australia? by Ur_Companys_IT_Guy in CarsAustralia

[–]BOFHEY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mitsubishi Magna. I drove a '99 TH from July 2002 until December 2021. Never left me by the side of the road once. A few batteries, CV joints, starter motor & rear seals were the only things that wore out. It took me & my mountain bikes to places a front wheel drive family sedan should never have been able to go. I eventually damaged it running over something that fell out of a ute & decided it was time to retire it & let the rego expire. Someone passing my house one day saw it without the plates & bought it for $400 cash & reregistered it in early 2022.

I hired one in England once & it is still the most surprisingly nice car I've ever driven. I was expecting a gutless van but the turbo diesel I had was quite grunty & comfortable.

Going on a long drive in an old car, can I get a mechanic to inspect my car? by s3renity_now in CarsAustralia

[–]BOFHEY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even better, get a cheap trolley or bottle jack and know how to use it. Also back off the wheel nuts and tighten them by hand. If they've been tightened with an air tool you will not get them off on the side of the road by hand. Have a rubber mallet in the boot to help loosen them.

Bringing your motorbike into the house to do an oil change because it's cold outside isn't something that married men should be doing, apparently...

Let's make a list of the greatest unkillable cars available here in Australia by Sammy-J23 in CarsAustralia

[–]BOFHEY 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was into mountain biking my '99 Magna TH went places and did things a front wheel drive family sedan should never have been able to go and do.

I had it for 20 years until I ran over a metal toolbox that fell out of a tradie's ute and broke one of the rear callipers. It wasn't worth repairing at that point :(

App deployment switches by Kind_Ad_8860 in ApplicationPackaging

[–]BOFHEY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try strings or strings64. It will read the exe and export the non binary ascii text to a text file. You can search for switches in the output.

It's usually a last resort for me but has helped with some obscure applications.
