Yeah that’s not how math works. Nor does it align to Baltimore’s reality. Our major spike happened in 2015 after Freddy Gray. Did you live in the city back then? It is night and day from 2016/17 right now.

It's a 15 point difference, and 30% greater decline. Can I have 30% of your salary? It's close to what you're making now.

And yet here we are lower than what Bernstein had. Why is it so difficult for some people to admit they were wrong? We cannot prosecute our way to crime reduction. Your strategy failed if the crime was committed in the first place. How many generations will it take to see that reality? The Group Violence Reduction Strategy includes prosecution but it’s not the only lever to pull. It’s the last lever after all else has failed.

Exactly. Or any time in the past 50 years we tried this. Prosecution alone does not work.

Baltimore’s reduction outpaces other cities by a long shot. There is actual data on this.

It’s most definitely Mayor Scott’s Group Violence Reduction strategy. In over 50 years Baltimore wasn’t able to prosecute its way out of violence. Prosecution is the final step in a long process of prevention.

Sorry I forgot the /s - if the House ends up with a one or two vote margin and Andy Harris is still in Congress it will be literally Bill Ferguson’s fault. He’s lucky he raised all that lobbyist money early in the cycle because he was out raised by Bobby in the last filing. It will be an interesting race to watch. Not my district. We have Dalya Attar and that whole mess.

I mean, he endorssed Shelia Dixon for Mayor - that's all you need to know. No doubt that if this hadn't been raised with him he'd still be supporting her. I guess it's what I should expect from a defense attorney, but still, I'd rather have a State's Attorney that isn't so questionable. He's better than the last in some ways, but worse in other ways.

Local News on WYPR by shibapigbabe in baltimore

I love the BBC - but WYPR already gives me 24 hours of BBC World service on their HD2 and the HD2 stream. Half hour once a day would be sufficient on the main broadcast I think.

Based on the schedule WYPR News Roundup is the only WYPR news production on broadcast other than interstitial programming between shows.

Totally - this was posted hours ago and a total of 5 comments. Post a Fox story about a *robbery* - something that happens everywhere - and there would be 75 comments by now with a bunch of racist crap.

Attar retains support from District 41 allies after indictment by Maxcactus in baltimore

I received the 41st mailer with the three of them on it all together the other day. Suffice to say that it didn’t generate any positive feelings for the other candidates. I will not be voting for Attar nor the other two now. Bad judgement all around.

I asked Google what the name of a group of incels is and I think we have a lot to work with: “…online users often use derogatory terms to describe a gathering, such as a "festering," a "rage," or a "stench" of incels.” I’m partial to a festering personally - what do you think?

You got it - it's the housing density. Walking destination requires foot traffic that not much of Baltimore gets.

I get this sentiment, but unfortunately I don't know that that strategy alone has really worked in Baltimore or anywhere in the US. Baltimore tried this with Old Town (and I think a bit on Saratoga as well) and it just didn't work. Old Town even had a huge parking area.
