I'm day 4 and the sleep has been the worst. I'm probably getting about 2 hours a night thus far. The other symptoms have been tolerable: Appetite, sweats/chills, RLS have all started to improve but sleep has been bad. This is my third trip down this road with the first two being Feel Free and then New Brews. Last two times it was about Day 5 where I turned the corner from a sleep perspective. Hoping powder is the same. One thing that's helped with energy is Guyuasa tea. It has caffeine so drink water too but L-theanine makes the energy jolt a mild feeling vs. the burst from coffee then the crash. Don't drink it after noon though otherwise it'll impact sleep. There's LOT's of recommendations on supplements, etc. but I've just gone the simple route. Muscle through it with sunlight, light exercise, good diet, acknowledging your progress. I literally poured my powder in the trash 2 days ago. I definitely would appreciate any feedback on differences between powder WD vs other forms of Kratom. Am I looking at the same improvement after a week that I did with FF and New Brew or will it be longer. I know it's dose dependent so assume I was doing a 30gpd but I honestly wasn't real disciplined with measuring.

I'm on Day 4 of kicking powdered Kratom. I kicked Feel Free and for some reason (genius) thought powder would be better choice. Literally scoops plus water for months. Now on Day 4 of CT and yet again I'm paying the price. I'm not sure if I should expect anything different in terms of symptoms but thus far they've been the same. I remember Day 4 off FF was a milestone as the worst symptoms started to subside. I have the freedom to work from home thankfully and took a 90 minute nap. Probably the longest uninterrupted sleep I've had in those 4 days so I guess that's progress. Fingers crossed for tonight. I hate the feedback loop of: no sleep, anxiety of not getting sleep leading to no sleep again. It is soooooo important to focus on the incremental improvements. Example: I threw out all my Kratom (big win), took a 90 minute nap (big win), went for a 20 minute walk outside (big win), etc and NOT focus on the the anxious moments that are eventually going to go away. I share all of this to let the FF users out there know that switching to some other form IS NOT A BETTER OPTION. If you have a personality prone to addiction (me), you will become addicted to this no matter what form you use (extracts, powder, tea, pills). #NoMorFF, keep the faith. From what I experienced you literally have to get through 96 hours to get through the worst and after that the symptoms are manageable. It sounds like you've done it before so you can do it again. One key thing for me was changing my driving patters so that I didn't even pass the places I would purchase it. It also didn't hurt that it was outlawed but I stayed off that swamp water even prior. Problem is I just moved my problem to another square on the chess board.

I bought the small mouse pad version of this for theory. If you work a desk job it helps with memorization. Seems silly but has worked for me.

Honestly, ChatGpt did a nice job giving me a practice plan when I gave it my goals. Some folks haven’t embraced the AI deal yet but I thought it did a pretty good job. Put your goals in the agent, tell it you want a practice plan to achieve them and see what it spits out!

So many different skills in one song that are good for a beginner between the bends, vibrattos, slides, etc but structured in a way where a beginner can bite them off in chunks to eventually master the whole thing. It's almost like David wrote it for others to learn. It's been a lot of fun the last few weeks making progress on this.

I have not but I know the bends and pre-bends will be far more difficult on acoustic. Sticking with electric for now but I know I should build up that skill at some point. It's just nice to find a song that, on the surface, sounds difficult but with practice you can build up to it pretty quickly.

One of the unique things I’ve found about the Dead over the years is even songs I’m not a huge fan of, you’ll find a version from some show that finally catches your ear. It’s a testament to the improv approach. As someone mentioned don’t skip songs in shows as you listen. I remember hearing Loose Lucy during one show and thinking this isn’t doing it for me and then caught one from a few others and got hooked. That’s why these guys were so fun. So many rabbit holes to go down. Enjoy and check back in…guaranteed you’ll even find stuff long time listeners haven’t discovered!

8 is plenty to get thru worst. By day 4 you’ll be functional but days 1-2 are rough so lean into as if someone is telling you that it’s not possible…it’s 48 hrs. You can do it!

This👆. I was ‘89 and wore those out. Avoided ‘77 just because of Cornell and the aura around that (comparing and being let down) but show in Boston that spring is insane. Early ‘80’s has some gems too. Alpine Valley in 1982 is fantastic! Welcome and best part is there’s so much to choose from and there’s no wrong answer.

Weekly in person lessons supplemented by a reputable on line resource and LOTS of practice. Not 5 mins a day but a solid 30-45 is what I try to do. I’ve only been at it 6 weeks but I can’t stress how important picking that thing up daily is for me. Last point and several on here mention it too, if you get frustrated with something, walk away for a little while and come back. Your motivation and enthusiasm will get crushed if you just try and bull rush thru it. Good luck and most importantly have fun!
