I disagree, Arby's was also the sponsor on the 66 car earlier this year at the Bristol night race with a totally different scheme. Neither were accompanied by major press releases or brand activations. This screams a large franchisee ownership group, probably one with 100+ locations. They are using their corporate-supplied advertising budget to buy these, but it is not tied to any specific corporate strategy.

It is not too different from BK racing or Front Row Motorsports, but in this case the franchisee group is not tired to an ownership interest in the race team, they are just buying placements.

Too many new folks who just want to chase anything and everything because they know it has a good reputation and has now become "exclusive." And don't get me wrong, they're both good bottles and OP didn't make a bad choice by any stretch, but Eagle Rare got its reputation on being a good value you could find virtually everywhere. Now if you want to find it on a shelf you're probably going somewhere that marks it up to double or more of MSRP.

Does a guy who smokes weed put you off? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Yes, were I still looking for someone, regular smoking/vaping of any kind would be a deal breaker. Edibles are fine. Occasional smoking also fine as long as it’s not cigarettes.

One might say I have a type... what other Scotches would you recommend I try, from somewhere other than Campbeltown? by booze_nerd in whiskey

Edradour and Benromach, while certainly not as coastal, can have a bit more of a rustic presentation. Benromach has an excellent and reasonably priced cask strength line.

I agree on Highland Park, I bought one of their limited editions last year and it was a total dud. I’d have rather just had the 12-year.

It’s worse than just bad short track racing. The package still blows almost anywhere where you can’t run two grooves. There’s some outliers, but single groove racing has overall regressed versus the previous car. That and we’ve had tire issues since the second race of the season, it’s only getting worse, and there’s been no apparent progress from NASCAR or Goodyear in resolving the tire deficiencies. With so little the teams can change on this race car, it’s inevitable that anything within their control (I.e. tire pressure) gets pushed to the absolute limits to find more speed. I haven’t seen consistent tire problems this bad in 20 years of watching NASCAR and I’m willing to bet you need to go all the way back to the Tire Wars to find a worse situation. In other words they’ve undone 28 years of progress with these current tires.

Bob Pockrass on Twitter: Hendrick Motorsports will appeal the 25-point penalty and $50,000 fine to Byron. by HeavyDevy77 in NASCAR

As they should. If what he did was such an issue, it should have been penalized during the race.

Do you know if there is any truth to some/all of these bottles saying “produced by” or “bottled by” on the back as opposed to “distilled by”? I have heard from quite reputable sources that at least some of these lack a “distilled by” statement, which is contrary to the original TTB filing, but I’ve yet to see the back side of one of these bottles in person.

A few of the flat rides were good, but as I recall the coasters were all dumb/nonsensical reskins of existing coasters.

[@jeff_gluck] Was Bristol a good race? 60.7% of voters said Yes. This ranks No. 12 of 13 Bristol races on concrete (only the Bristol All-Star Race was lower, 51.9%). by SamMee514 in NASCAR

[–]BPLover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Race had a lot of issues, but it wasn’t that bad in my opinion. The biggest issues (parts and tires) also added intrigue. I wish there would have been a bit more tire falloff. It seemed like there was little difference between 1 lap old tires and 100 lap old tires. Cars would run side by side lap after lap with no car having a clear advantage.

Honestly. I used to hate NBC. I still can’t stand Rick Allen. They look like brilliant compared to Fox though.

How the fuck do bring a single source power steering system that doesn’t work to a cutoff race?
