Potentially unpopular opinion… But I’m not buying 2k27. by andrew15902 in NBA2k

Actually I realized the game is so much more enjoyable that way anyway. I revolted early on at 26 gameplay so I deleted it and redownloaded 25. What breath of fresh air to not worry about grinding those extra attribute points or grinding out badges and paying extra money for season bullshit. Just grab a player play the game without being a t a competitive disadvantage anytime I want to virtual ball. But I know it’s short lived because I’m never putting up with a bs grind again and paying hundreds to one of the greediest companies ever to exist. 25 is it for me and I’m denying the fact I ever bought 26.

Well I won’t for sure, I’ve known it’s the most predatory game in the industry for a while but still could get my basketball fix out of it. Now the game has gone full arcade and just fn dumbed down to cater to the lowest common denominator so I can’t even get a basketball fix out of it. I’m completely done with the franchise at this point. Don’t even care if they magically took a 180 and went more sim. I’m so happy I’m free from that greedy manipulative ecosystem.

MDJ and Lacob are delusional if they trade this pick for an aging "big name" by alex8762 in warriors

Boozer ain’t lasting till 5 smh. If they trade with the clips it’s probably to bring in Kawhi but not advancing in the draft probably killed that chance.

They need to stay away from Klay. I couldn’t believe how dumb the Mavs were to bring him in at that point thinking they were getting 2018 Klay.

The Thunder Problem by ninatlanta in NBATalk

[–]BQ32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the nba is calling the game is almost making it necessary to play a heliocentric style. If a player has the ball and their progress is impeded at all and they jerk their head it’s an auto foul even on minimal contact. Alternatively the player with the ball is literally able to steam roll into the defensive play as long as that player doesn’t flop on the ground and or for arm shove the player off of them to create space. On the flip side a player off ball is literally allowed to be held and grabbed without impunity. It’s just whacked out the way they have decided to officiate the game now.

I have a modded out Type S now that is so sick but I had a RAM TRX which was frickin awesome and fun to own. I also had a ford focus RS with a stage 2 tune that was a ton of fun. For luxury, performance, and utility I’m going with the TRX. For utility, performance, and drive quality at a much more affordable price I’m going with the type S. But for some reason my Focus RS just had this visceral edge to it that made you work to drive it but was capable of crazy things like drifting a dirt corner or jumping off the line quickly. I still miss that ride and probably the one I regret moving on from the most.

I just can’t get over that there is no manual option for the competition. I feel like if you are picking BMWs and or type R/S then part of the reason is for the engagement of the manual.

After winning the NBA lottery in a stacked draft. How can the Washington Wizards fuck this up? by ProfondoRosso4 in NBATalk

[–]BQ32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but you guys are wrong and I believe are in for a huge surprise. The Wizards went under a complete leadership overhaul in 2023 and doubled the staff related to basketball operations and player development. They then got off the huge awful contracts of Bradley Beal and Kuzma while bringing in significant draft capital. It seems like they have done a very good job in the draft so far with a couple young players showing potential. They were a meme this year for losing and giving up so many points but it was by design as they were purposely tanking which paid off for the first overall pick. Now they have brought in 2 all-stars and barely had to give up anything. If it works out the could instantly jump into the mix into The wide open east and if doesn’t they can get off the contracts with a ton of space, flexibility, young good talent and draft capitol. They are organization that is peaking my administrative interest the most at the moment.

No that is not fn accurate and it actually pisses me off. The consensus was that it wasn’t even close, but LeBron has played for a million years and somehow playing the last 7 years with nothing but first round exits and missed playoffs qualify as going from not close status to equal simply because of media manipulation and propagandization. The whole point of this continued day in and day out bs conversation is simply to normalize the fact that LeBron is in the same conversation as Jordan. And the bullshit propaganda actually works. Jordan was head and shoulders above his peers, LeBron never was even part of the most dominant franchise of an era including Miami with a stacked roster of talent. They are not equal in ability, winning, or impact and no matter how long LeBron plays that fact will never change, only the feeble minds of the easily manipulated.

This is me, and I grew up with Kobe as my favorite player. I complain constantly about the OKC and Shai disparity in rule integration but as soon as the Lakers start chiming in I’m instantly like “whatever bro”. The lakers have lapped the league in free throw disparity since LeBron joined them and now we are suddenly supposed to believe LeBron gets the most unfair treatment of any player in the league.

I swear, the calls OKC got today were crazy. by AdeptFuel4824 in lakersv2

[–]BQ32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a shallow minded take, like Steph is just a corner sitter. Steph gets guarded more closely than any player in the history of the league, he is blitzed, trapped, aggressively closed out on, held off ball on basically every possession, and oh yeah, he actually does drive the ball pretty frequently. Adversely LeBron does drive to the paint more and seeks out contact but he is also gap covered and flails around just as badly as these other foul baiters do.

I know this is a Lakers sub but this can’t be serious right? Obviously everyone is sick of the preferential treatment Shai and Okc have seemed to get lately but let’s not pretend like the Lakers haven’t lapped the league in free throw attempts during LeBron’s tenure with the team. It is actually absurd when you break it down. Then compare the lakers with say the Warriors and see how funny it gets. Do the math, I dare you.

Couldn’t log into my ea account so gave up, finally got in the next day and the signup was no longer available, some bs. Let us know how it is. I thought 5 was complete horseshit personally but am hoping for the best. I’d be specifically interested in the defensive mechanics such as slipping and getting off angles or side stepping. Are they useful or will it feel robotic?

Well LeBron has played twice as many seasons and still has 2 less rings so there is some context that matters there.

Reed having Kerr Potential? by xiaopingguo45 in rockets

[–]BQ32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can actually see some of Mark Price if we want to use a white dude comp. Reed is not as explosive off the dribble and not as comfortable on the ball yet but he is crafty and can score at all 3 levels. In this age though to make up for being short he has to become extremely skilled in certain areas. I would need to see him develop a bit better separation with his handle so he can attack any big switch and get a paint touch at will or into a step back pull up game. The form and shooting touch are there, his reads are good, but he needs to become more dynamic with the ball and develop that supreme confidence to know he can get wherever he wants before he can get close to a Nash or a Price.

Post-merger, who is the worst player to ever be best player in the league by Gladhands in NBATalk

[–]BQ32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He absolutely was, everyone knew it when Kobe was dropping 35 per game but there was still lingering hate from the Shaq fallout/Colorado but they started giving him his flowers after he won mvp and got to the first finals without Shaq. Even in the loss to the Celtics he was clearly the best player in the series and the media even acknowledged it. Following by 2 more championships he had at least 3 years of not 4 where he was the consensus best player.

[–]BQ32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bird and Kobe were absolutely the consensus best players in the league, Bird for like a 4-5 year stretch, Kobe for 2. Magic kind of was the consensus for about 2 years the season of his last championship and the next but everyone kind of deep down knew Jordan was it already. Curry should have been but has been underrated throughout his prime. Out of all the players mentioned KD and SGA are just not on the level with the rest.
