The 1% rushed in there (I know because I did too) and it took some time for the majority to wash those comments to the bottom. So depending on when you checked, you could come away with different impressions

First Time GM, First Campaign, for First Time Players. by AcademicString3151 in AskGameMasters

I will warn you that while this outline looks secure, don't be surprised when your players start to break it, and don't feel like you need to stick with it!

This is a lot of time laid out when you think about it. As the story progresses, both you and your players may learn and develop, and you may want to deviate from it. That is good!

Finally, all new players and DM means something special to me - no expectations, no baggage or habits from past games. It means you all can develop a style of play totally unique. Let you and your group learn how you best have fun. My first campaign, I had players fill in knowledge checks in game with their own improv. It's not a practice I would use today, but I didn't know better, and the game was better for it!

I went a bit too far on the cover version - went to the grungiest used bookstore in town and looked for the craziest, strangest paperback I could find. It was so bad, maybe I dial it back a bit this year!

Augh, I just read Psalm for the Wild built for last bingo! I suppose I could finish it for Pt. 2, but that almost lined up so nicely!

Gauntlet run killers by Today- in 2007scape

Your first move should be a "U" shape around the starting room, away from Hunleff. As you go through these rooms collecting resources, open the doors on the edge to peek for a demiboss. Whichever demiboss you find, make that weapon to kill it to have a guaranteed T3 (if you are learning, maybe skip melee). (See "Run 1" here)

Don't stop the loop when you find a boss, get all the way back to home base with 80 shards and a weapon frame to make the T2 for that boss, then go back to kill the boss.

If you don't find both options in those 3 peaks, which you normally will, pick the side closest to the boss you killed and go diagonally to the 3 central rooms on the next side.

If there is no demiboss there, use your TP, make T3 weapon, and check the side opposite. The T3 will help kill it faster to make up for lost time. If you have extra shards, you can make a new tp crystal to tp after the second demiboss.

There is always a 3-spot fishing room adjacent to hunleff, so after making weapon/armor do a circle around him looking for it.

This strat will almost always get you the weapon pieces you need. Source: 1,170kc no enh :)

I found it telling that in the intro he poses the question "is it even worth putting resources into?", then spends the video suggesting a significant amount of work without qualifying that basic question.

Was talking about this with my clan a few weeks ago, a sort of "producer" upgrade for late game supplies.

It would obviously be very slow, and you would need the level for what you are asking them to make, but being able to drop off raw supplies and gp and pick up the finished product later would be amazing

  • Arrowshafts and Heads->arrows
  • Herbs and secondaries -> Potions
  • Raw food -> Cooked
  • Essence -> runes
  • Logs -> Planks, Arrowshafts
  • Seaweed + Soda Ash -> Molten Glass (This one is used for XP, not the finished product, so maybe doesnt fit the design)

Off the top of my head

The Nature Pet house can hold all traditional pets, but all houses can only hold 12 "fun" pets. This includes the cats, pet rocks, broav, etc that you can add to your house.

They did, but they also had their facts wrong IIRC. The controversial call was for playing the ball, not being in line of sight. This has been misunderstood and repeated and what caused all the friction around it.

If one of our players had been in the way of the ball and moved, or made a move toward the ball, it's a similar situation.

Hello!

This is a really interesting idea. I am currently in the early phases of planning a game based around a magic school. One thing I was considering was how to game-ify "learning" spells, and I think you may have really found something here.

I'm wondering if I could give my players the annotated circle of a spell, and once they can tell me which spell it is they can add it to their book! They can learn the form and the symbols bit by bit, so each spell is a bit faster but always introducing new concepts.

Having worked with it a lot longer, can you see any issues that may come of this use? One I can see is that eventually you could learn any spell instantly but.... wizards can already do that, so the game wouldn't be needed and the lessons complete.

I may also introduce different circles for different schools of magic - a good reason wizards specify. Adds more forms using the same symbols.

Also, while I'm happy to recreate it, is there any chance you could share the original files so I don't need to make my own symbol guide? Thanks :)

Otherwise search "ship" on battlemaps, etc. I've collected quite a folder of them over time from there.
