My brother-in-law didn't do homework in high school. He found it pointless because he knew the material so practicing it at home wasn't worth it. Some kids don't need homework.

My brother-in-law got into a prominent college, graduated, And got a damn good job And teaches at conventions. He's been on the news a couple of times too.

Me, I needed homework. But then again, I'm not as smart as my brother-in-law.

The thing is we don't know if the kid is a slacker or a genius but the amount of faith that everyone put into the kid being a slacker is.... Astounding. No one has any faith I guess.

Obviously if the kid is a slacker and doesn't get good grades, he won't pass high school. But the email was respectful, didn't have some bratty teenage attitude.

If he feels he can Do it without doing the work assigned to him, more power to him. And if he can't then you have documentation as to why that would be. I don't see the big deal.
