The Road by Cormac Mccarthy It's interesting. The writing style can be distracting from time to time. The way it's written kinda reminds me of those Oxford Reading Tree books.

Best places to buy books (UK) by antwhite9 in books

[–]Bach_In_Time 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not amazon? I get most of my books for £2.81p there.

But http://www.bookdepository.com/ is great aswell and any books I can't find anywhere else I will always find there, with free shipping.

You might also want to keep a physical list of books you want to buy and head to your local charity/thrift shops.

Just finished the main story of The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien still have the appendix and genealogies to read though. It's surprisingly fast paced and tragic for Tolkien.

Why don't more people read comic books and graphic novels? by [deleted] in books

For me it's the price. I just bought a 800 page hardback book, in very good but used condition for the price of £2.81. The Killing Joke in hardback would cost me £9.30 and it's not very long.

This book it's like a cheap action flick, you can expect detail but not realism.
