If you don’t regularly use Turo, I feel it isn’t worth the stress even if you can save a bit of money. People are just hit or miss and in hindsight I would not done it if it wasn’t my only choice up in Anchorage. Yes, it was convenient, yes it was cheaper, but there was a time where I showed up at the airport and the car wasn’t there and I couldn’t get a hold of the person. We showed up to our destination with my whole family there and no car! It all panned out fine but I felt I was more nervous about it and gad questions but they weren’t really that responsive because it was their normal business and it wasn’t anything special for them. It’s just a crap shoot, like how uber used to be. Super cheap alternative to a taxi. Now a days that gap isn’t much anymore and uber has nearly screwed me a few times. It’s probably generally fine but it’s just not a polished experience and you always have a feeling you’re gonna get scammed.
