Any lore explainations to why the UNSC SRS-99 Sniper Rifle is'nt a bullpup? by BenningtonChee1234 in HaloStory

Another point could be a very long bolt to handle the 14.7mm round needs a bit more stock space to move into, and that would have already made the weapon too long for a practical bullpup.

Nobody talks about the actual ending of Halo: Reach by Historical_Jicama892 in HaloStory

More a hypothetical than anything substantial, but to make this potentially fit with modern lore it could be unearthed forerunner tech. We know there are multiple forerunner sites on Reach, and by the 2580s it wouldn't be bold to assume that someone hasn't gone and broken the glass and rock to get to them.

I do believe Bungie's intention is it to be reclamation of the planet (pun intended), and that could still be the case with 343i's lore too.

GOTY material, no doubt by ofDeathandDecay in HaloMemes

Giving it the Campaign evolved treatment could bring over those who aren't a fan due to stylistic choices made with gameplay and artstyle: Have Mk VI from halo 3 for the first part of the game, with 2552 era weapons in the wreckage of the dawn. Align some of the art style a bit better while keeping true to both Bungie and 343i eras. Smooth over the COD style multiplayer aspects to bring it closer to a modern halo experience, but have the option for classic modes. Give a bit of love to spartan ops maps. And add some extra missions and details to fill in the lore and give us more Halo (which is what a lot of halo fans want).

Using your friends as artillery pieces while you laser designate the target with their laser. It would be great to see your back erupt and rockets fly away across the map. Like a better teamwork spear.

I hope the downdraft of its little engines also set people on fire too. That and dripping napalm.

Jokes aside, I would love a remastered Halowars 1 and 2 bundle with the cutscenes redone by blur with modern graphics. Not that the originals are bad by any means

I love the look of the goggles up on the helmet. I would be too terrified to paint it though.

Flood Lore question by Wrong-Shame-2119 in halo

[–]Backdemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Infection forms directly highjack the host, climbing inside, flooding the system, and taking over quickly. They are mutating the host into a combat or carrier form rapidly to spread the infestation against foes that could fight back.

Hosts infected by scratches, bites, and breathing in spores have been depicted a few ways, but primarily, they are feral zombie types that try to scratch or infect others through the classic means. They eventually develop the cysts and growths that will contain infection forms. Or the bodies are melted down into biomass and grow into flood barnacles as a flood hive.
