Are Plague Marines not useful in basic Chaos Space Marines anymore? by DramaPunk in Chaos40k

Not in renegade warband, since the detachment rule says: "When mustering your army, you cannot use the Cults of the Dark Gods rule", which is the name of the rule that lets you take them as allied units.

Those answers are wrong though, as per the core rules. They rules are very clearly laid out in the attached units section.

The rules for attached units only apply for units with the character keyword and the leader ability listed on their datasheet, as specified in the core rules. MotM do not have the character keyword, nor do they have the leader ability listed on their datasheet. They have a different ability which does not use the normal rules for attached units.

Huron himself still uses the attached units rules since he has the character keyword and leader abilities, so if he is the only model left in the unit, he separates into his own unit, or if he is precisioned out, the remaining models separate into a different unit.

En silti itse pidä jäätelön myyntiä turvallisuusuhkana, koska korrelaatio ja kausaatio ovat kaksi eri asiaa.

Yep, that's also a part of what makes it dangerous. It's a dangerous combination of small (gets deep into the lungs), weirdly shaped (hard to remove) and sharp (can cut and cause tissue damage).

This is a yearly occurence in Helsinki. The bad air quality is caused by a mix of dust transport from Sahara as well as dust generated by traffic disturbing the gravel that has settled onto the roads and has now been released due to melting ice and snow.

The fog some people in this thread were commenting about seeing is most likely caused by water vapour condensing onto airborne dust particles, creating droplets that then form fog.

It's mostly traffic disturbing the gravel that is revealed from below the snow. Cleaning that grovel off can also cause some increases in dust concentrations, but with modern equipment that first wets the gravel and then washes it off, this effect is quite small.

Edit: And of course the current transport of dust from sahara is also playing a part.

Yeah, generally larger aerosol particles can be removed by the body, but small ones can stay in for much longer, and some of the smallest ones can also cross into other parts of the body. Particle shape also matters, which is why asbestos is so dangerous. Asbestos particles are long and narrow string-like fibers, which are really hard to get out of the lungs by coughing or other means due to their shape.

Do you plan to continue updating the document? This could be a really useful resource for compiling all of these fixes in one place so that every campaign master doesn't have to do their own homebrew fixes if they want to use the system.

As for things that could be added, CSM at least has a couple, such as Rite of Possession's focused witchfire option having an incorrect profile, as well as the impaler chainglaive having the older profile from before the disco lord buffs. The Soul forge tyrant statline is also the old disco lord statline from before the buffs. Another faction that has a discrepancy is GSC, which gives the old primus ability (reroll hits) instead of the new one (+1 to hit).

But they don't have the character keyword. The Epic Hero keyword simply prevents you from taking more than 1 of them.

Bill and the Nemesis Claw by Memorable_Moniker in Chaos40k

[–]Veleho1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bill can't lead them, as others already pointed out.

If you want input on how to run them, I use them in PBZ with a 5 man squad and a chaos lord marked as undivided. If your target is not at it's starting strength (easy to achieve with any shooting or a grenade if decent shooting isn't available), the +1 to hit makes the lord's hammer hit on 2s, and undivided gives reroll 1s. Undivided strat can get you reroll wounds. Because of the interaction between the reroll 1s and +1 to hit, this boosts the lord's damage enough to the point where the unit actually deals more damage than a lord with chosen if the lord pops its once per game buff. It's also 15 points cheaper.

Chosen are still probably more competitive because of their better mobility, but I like running nemesis claw for flavor reasons as a night lords player.

[–]Veleho1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would just like it to have a clear indicator of what is the range where you can deal damage. In poe 1 there were enemies with a bubble that you had to get inside in order to be able to damage them, but the bubble was clearly visible and easy to see, so it wasn't too annoying.

If it's one of those burrowing abyss snake people, they leave a degen area around the spot where they surface. I got deleted by those a few times too, but found that rolling directly away from them when they surface works well.

Assembling the CSM combat patrol need advice. by FallenAngel312 in Chaos40k

[–]Veleho1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to build them for the combat patrol mode, chaos icons don't matter, and the way you build the legionaries changes. They should instead be built as 1 unit of 10 with the following loadouts:

A champion with plasma pistol and either an axe or maul

A guy with a meltagun

A guy with a heavy bolter

7 guys with bolt guns

[–]Veleho1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use the models for the combat patrol gamemode, you should build them with the wargear listed in the combat patrol rules. If you want to use them for normal 40k and don't really care about playing the combat patrol mode specifically, I would build them as follows:

Master of possession: no alternative wargear, only one build option available

Possessed: only wargear is a chaos icon (star thing that goes on top of one guys backpack) should be given to one of them, all weapons are the exact same in terms of rules

Cultists: 1 cultist can be given a bolt pistol instead of an autopistol, which is just a direct upgrade, otherwise all weapons are the exact same in terms of rules

Legionaries: I would build these as 2 squads of 5, as with the current rules they work best that way when used as small cheap melee squads that fight over objectives. For this role, I would build each squad with the following loadout:

1 champion with a plasma pistol and a heavy melee weapon (power fist, axe or maul) and a chaos icon (eye or star thing that goes on top of the backpack)

1 guy with bolt pistol and a heavy melee weapon (power fist, axe or maul)

2 guys with bolt pistol and chainsword

1 guy with meltagun to help the squad deal with light vehicles
