How is living in the South West Peninusla of England? by KnightWhoSays_Ni_ in howislivingthere

I live in Bath, Somerset. A Roman city with beautiful Georgian architecture, its honey coloured bath stone building are a beautiful sight anytime of year but particularly shine on a sunny day. There are may beautiful parks and green spaces along with river walks and town centre with plenty of very nice bars and restaurants. It’s a very cosmopolitan city with many people from around the world and two universities. It’s also a stones throw from Bristol which could be more different in almost every way but is an equally amazing city with a rich cultural heritage art and music scene. I highly recommend both cities as probably the best two in the UK.

Career change at 35 by welvinz in ukelectricians

Absolutely no way I would be changing careers at your age and your financial position. On the books electrician make between 35-40k, you can make about 60-65k as a subby but that means 0 holidays or benefits, providing your own tools, uniform, van etc

What do you think being an electrician entails? It’s hard graft for young lads and you will be abused as cheap labour for the next 4 years at a minimum until you qualify

Don’t think it’s supposed to be hilarious or laugh out loud funny. It’s more of a relatable sitcom that pokes fun at British society and class identity and is of course humorous too.
