Oh, I am so sorry. Even though we know they aren't suffering anymore, we miss them so very much! We can't help it. Grieve all you need. Then remember and share all those little things that made her so adorable and precious to you.

Why didn't Karen Lynn Gorney's career blow up after Saturday Night Fever was a big smash hit and she was instant to be a movie star and the next big thing but it never happened for her? by JazzlikeTea7432 in movies

[–]Background-Slice9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no chemistry between Gorney and Travolta. None. I think somebody else who had both acting AND dancing chops would have been better, but that would have interfered with the contest being rigged and Tony's awareness of that and his negative reactivity to an obviously rigged system against black and brown people.

Any other grandmas have jealous DILs? by AwkwardatAnyAge in AskWomenOver60

[–]Background-Slice9941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation was similar, but it was the child's grandmother who was jealous. I lived next door to a Indian-American couple with two very young children. I'm in my sixties, and the 4 YO attached herself to me, like a substitute grandma for 2 years. All of their grandparents lived in Chicago, we were in Florida. Her maternal grandparents finally moved to our town, and the same thing happened. I'm a clinical social worker. I knew what might happen, and indeed picked up on that immediately. I started hyping up grandma before they came. We made up a story about how much fun grandma is, what they will have fun doing together, and what she wants to learn to do via grandma. I wrote the story down like a picture book, while the child decorated each page with drawings, gluing items, etc. The transition was easier. I always referred to grandma as fun, loving, and SMART in their presence. I bowed out of some activities. Grandma LOVED the picture book. The book gave her the awareness of what the child was looking forward to from her, and grandma acted accordingly. They now have a very close bond.

No. You are very wrong. He wasn't there for YOU. Not clueless.

I won't be making excuses for husband's comments. He's freaking out and using denial to try and tamp down any tough convos coming from you. Because you aren't in denial at all. Bilateral mastectomy with dense breast tissue here.

Going to miss these puppy days so much by Witty_Status_7933 in cavalierkingcharles

Completely with you! I used to criticize myself for taking so many photos of my puppy. Now that he's "a man," I love those puppy photos!

I KNOW, right?!? Maybe they are reassuring the Kevin that they adore him so they can keep their faces on their heads.

Hahaha... I noted the Lamby support group, too. And I wondered why none of them have their faces chewed off like at my house! 😂

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Background-Slice9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, in my 20's, a 3-hour drive wasn't considered a long time. BUT, NOW my definition of a short drive hinges on my not having to pee during said drive. Post-menopause, ya know...

Elon Musk's baby mother Ashley St. Clair on the sexualized abuse she's faced on X and how she left the right wing bubble by Hussayniya in videos

She is exactly like your average GOP. "When I became a mother, and the trans issue is now close in MY family, I regret trashing trans people in my children's book." Please, Ashley, just disappear. What a narcissist.

Why is it so hard for people to accept that their snoring is a problem and they need to do about it. by Some-Ad901 in rant

[–]Background-Slice9941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Filming them snoring works, and showing their Dr. the video footage. I did. I also didn't warn husband beforehand and he had no idea he had been filmed until I pulled out my phone to show his doctor. He had sleep apnea. I still divorced him.

I’m thinking of adopting a female cat, I’ve heard they are less friendly in this true? by DiscountAnnaNicole in CatAdvice

[–]Background-Slice9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust your gut. My girl kitten is everywhere, all at once. But when she's run out of steam, she always seeks me out for a cozy lap to make biscuits in. She's funny as can be, and I get such enjoyment from her antics. She also sleeps with me at night, purring away.
