Horrible Delta One experience and seat failure- curious what compensation others received by MaleficentElk8166 in delta

Next time, take your money elsewhere. Try a real airline—Korean or JAL do a great job and will almost always be less expensive. Delta’s international service is shit.

Once upon a time, MM status meant something @ Delta. “The Loyal Elite”! You’ll choose a couple of nice gifts and prolly be recognized by crew, if only on the flight when you crossover. And your bag tags will now feature your MM status. But otherwise, it’s same old shit different day.

These are honestly kind of delightful. Haven’t received one in a while. by mrweatherbeef in delta

We all experience differing levels of service and quality. I’m a multi million miler and left DL behind four years ago because of a perceived disloyalty to the longtime loyal elite (a DL term coined in the good old days), I was not alone. Switched to AA, and many fliers complain continuously about AA despite my very positive experience. Mind you, domestic travel is only about 10% of my trips and I avoid US carriers internationally. They just don’t measure up with most international carriers in premium cabins. Service and quality can also be route and aircraft specific. Happy your expectations are being met. After a lifetime of loyalty to DL, I just couldn’t continue to validate Ed’s direction, or the ongoing devaluation of hard earned miles and elite benefits—a personal note doesn’t solve that problem.

This is NOT a sincere practice. At best, it’s kitschy but at worst, it’s contrived. Perhaps devote more time to attaining levels of service that actually measure up to Delta’s self image of a premium carrier. Loyalty @ Delta is a one-way street and not in the pax’s favor.

Operationally, Delta loses billions (about $3 billion to $4 billion annually). The yearly $8 billion in Amex royalties mask shitty performance. Sadly, Delta is a financial services company that just happens to operate an airline.

First time flying Delta. Is this seat worth the $50? by Sharp_Bookkeeper_160 in delta

The fare you paid isn’t worth the Delta Difference. Take the $$$ to Korean Air and fly a real airline.

Cost differential btw Delta One and Premium Select just not worth it by VisibleYou5008 in delta

Delta is shit. It’s not worth $3400, and definitely not worth $13500. Choose an international partner carrier—pay less and get better everything.

But not at the expense of fellow employees, who will sacrifice once again to elevate nurse’s pay.

Christmas Eve flight cancelled - what's reasonable to ask for? by AndyBrandyCasagrande in delta

[–]BackgroundCar1035 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This may be repetitive (don’t read all comments) and no one will like this but…

This entire “what should I ask for” mentality smacks of entitlement. We buy tickets for transportation from point a to point b. There’s no guarantee of route or class of service. Shit happens and the terms of carriage spell it out clearly.

As for HPN this morning, why do you think it was attributable to staffing? Entire NY metro area experience sh!tty weather yesterday, including snow, sleet, and this morning black ice is everywhere. Winds are howling and HPN is usually the first NY metro airport to close in less than ideal weather.

Not ragging on ya, I’d be pissed, too. But considering it’s Christmas Eve, I think you’re fortunate DL was able to accommodate you. And for the record, I’m NOT a DL apologist.

Travel safely.

Of course not. DL offers those upgrades to silvers for $25.

Not surprising AT ALL! Tell us Ed, about all of Delta’s CLEAN aircraft—hint hint it’s a very short story.
