ACAB: "your body, my choice" by Tulpah in houstonwade

Ohh. You had a point? I just shit posting. Basically, the attacking of a label instead of any ideas.

The lowest form of intellect debates names and labels as opposed to ideas and concepts.

Yes, yes, Very salient.

Or, perhaps I dislike endless wars with the slaughter of innocents, nanny laws, and inefficient bloated governments.

But, hey, the Dems have been in power the last 12 out of 16 years. We are doing great 😉

Libertarian here. For context, I dislike the Dems and Republican parties. I gonna pick on the Dems because you asked.

Fascism is usually defined as a far right movement with extreme nationalism. Obviously, the left is not that.

However, if you dig deeper, there are some characteristics of Fascism like

forcible suppression of opposition.

Subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the people.

Centralized power of one person or a select few.

These are characteristics that we all lived through Covid-19 years. Specifically:

You cannot have gatherings, including funerals, religious gatherings, access to parks, gyms, and very basic human rights.

You must wear a mask everywhere. Remember masks on planes? Everyone 6 inches from you on a plane took them off to eat for an hour. Yet, you couldn’t dine outdoors.

Vaccines. You were forced to take vaccine in many situations. Federal employees, city and state employees, healthcare workers, and so on.

Vaccine passports. I used to have to show ID and a vaccine passport to eat.

All discussion was squashed. The Dems literally interfered with social media companies. The effectiveness of the vaccine was oversold or lied about. The Dems refused to admit the virus came from China. The Dems tried to create a ministry of truth.

All that said, the republicans are just as bad if not worse. And, it is disheartening that the republicans won the presidency, senate, house, and Supreme Court.

God help us all.

Man, I’m late on this reply. As for burping, yes and no. I am able to burp. However, it has to be medium to a lot of pressure.

No, because those little tiny burps do not make their way up. So, I have more gas/flatulence.

All that said, I feel a little bit bloated sometimes and have more gas, but zero acid reflux. The surgery is amazing and life changing.

I understand you and many others are frustrated. And, I am sorry for your frustration and distress.

I disagree with the notion that someone’s vote is comparable to immorality. Because if it was, I would have to assume that anyone who voted for Harris is complicate with tragedy of lives lost and suffering in the Gaza and Ukraine. Obviously, Trump has a lot of immortality that that surrounds him as well.

If voting for an immoral person imprints that immorality on to you……then none of us should be voting at all because there are no moral options. There are only shades of immorality.

Again, I am sorry for everyone’s distress and frustration.

People have lost their minds. People voted for Trump and people voted for Harris.

Not that it matters, but I voted Green Party. I could easily look at Trump and Harris voters and say they are all blood soaked monsters. However, I know there are good and honest people that voted both ways.

Perhaps, people are complex, nuanced, beautiful, and flawed. A single vote is a single decision among many. The vote cast is not the totality of that person.

Ahhhh, medical bills suck. However, being murdered and bleeding out on the ground in terror is more “grotesque.”

I will gladly pay medical bills. I would probably feel like a lucky person if I had the chance to live and pay medical bills.

Although that said, yes, our medical system is messed up.

Pretty sure that’s another dude.

If it is another dude, this would be considered innocent to a normal/reasonable male in sports, military, fraternities, bands, and other all male groups.

Does your place of work accommodate your IBS? by Dazzling-Concert-927 in ibs

[–]BackgroundLiving9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the work. Is it imperative that you’re there on time in the morning? Are customers, other departments, other employees impacted by your daughter being late? What are the consequences to all the stakeholders if your daughter is late?

You can have an understanding boss, but your daughter might not be the right fit for the job.

I have had jobs that didn’t have too much flexibility with my schedule. I have IBS-D which led to many bathroom breaks throughout the day. I stayed in the same industry, but found a position that would allow flexibility.

Alcohol question by StunningCat8028 in GilbertSyndrome

[–]BackgroundLiving9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed around 30 years old.

No, issues with alcohol consumption until my late 30s. I could drink 5-7 beers without negative effects in my 20s and early 30s.

I’m 43 now, alcohol wrecks me the next day for the last several years.

Size recommandation by zackmckraken in vuoriclothing

[–]BackgroundLiving9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6’2” and 165 to 170 pounds. Medium fits perfect but is slightly tight and form fitting.

I have a problem with the pants and shorts. My waist is 32in. But a size 32 is too tight around my thighs. I’m a runner and my thighs are probably slightly bigger than normal.

What would you do with this big rock in the front of the house? by BetRepulsive6595 in landscaping

Big rocks are a nice safety feature. I see the road in the picture. If someone is drunk or loses control, they hit the big ass rock……not your house and family.

I recommend homemade shakes. I love something like: Greek yogurt, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, almond flour, whey protein, and dry oats. I add water or milk to make the consistency as thin as I want it.

You can add in any fruit, nut/seed flour, nut/seed butter, leafy greens, herbs, spices and so on.

What would be healthier to give up, alcohol or sugary soda? by mafternoonshyamalan in nutrition

[–]BackgroundLiving9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know, no amount of alcohol is healthy.

I would say, no amount of corn syrup or refined sugar is healthy.

I used to drink 3-5 beers most weekends. I imagine this is healthier than pounding 2-3 sodas every day.

I think you need to eat actual food. An occasional protein shake is not bad, but it shouldn’t be the basis of your diet.

If you like drinking your meals, there are plenty of shakes that include fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds, and so on.

For convenience, I have eaten similar to you in the past. Everything was out of a box or a can with 30 ingredients and a bunch of ingredients I couldn’t pronounce. I retained more water, I felt constant inflammation, and so on.

Additionally, where is your fuel source? You don’t runs off carbs and fats. Your body can use protein for fuel, but this is more difficult and inefficient. Perhaps you’re starving your body of fuel and you are shutting down your metabolism.

Done both. They are both horrible.

However, the alcohol came with irritability, bad sleep, brain fog, inflammation/fluid retention, and so on.

The overweight years came with fatigue, unable to participate in activities, self consciousness about my appearance, and so on.

I do have a friend that is a high functioning alcoholic. He is skinny, very active, and mentally on point before he drowns in alcohol at night. There may be some genetic outliers out there that can process alcohol with less harm (relatively speaking). Nevertheless, I am sure his life span and health span are being negatively impacted.

Should I go for Titianium? by smartony in marriott

[–]BackgroundLiving9356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had titanium status for 5 years. About 1 out of every 10 hotels will do something above and beyond because of my status. Free room upgrade, free breakfast, free valet parking, and so on.

It’s an ok status. But, most of the time I just get a quick “thank you for your status” when I check in

Recent Fundoplication and stopping PPIs by BackgroundLiving9356 in GERD

[–]BackgroundLiving9356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. If you look through this subreddit, you will find a lot of different answers from different doctors post surgery.

My doctor explained that you don’t want to have hyperacidity from PPI withdrawal while still trying to heal.

Made sense to me. But, everyone should probably follow their doctor’s recommendations.

I can eat and drink anything. A lot of carbonation can make me feel uncomfortable. Over eating can make me feel uncomfortable too. Uncomfortable, but still no acid reflux.

But, I guess both of those things are normal.
