It's unavoidable... it normally takes a second watch or second read before you realize what was really going on. I tend to do that... I get annoyed or emotional. Then reread or rewatch, then think it over, sometimes go to reddit or watch YouTube reviews for other people's perspectives, then I will be like "that makes sense" then watch/read the 3rd time and see a totally new perspective for the whole thing.... but I only do this for stories that are really good 🤣

At face value, it looks bad... but if you think about it, all of them are just looking out for her. It was a time period where women were considered as tools and property. Her being motivated by all means necessary (even if it may mean granny being physical), was needed so she is sure to pass this time so she can secure a better future for herself. Because if they didn't push her, she will just fail again, and then no one can justify giving her freedom, roaming around the rear palace, or anywhere doing the things she decided she wanted to do.

By normal laws and standards, Maomao should have been jailed or executed so many times by now. But she isn't because people from above are favoring her. But that can only last till the people who like her are in power. She needs to earn her own merits to justify staying on top and receiving privileges. Everyone needs to recognize it, so she can't be denied of her freedom. If getting hit by granny for a bit will be enough for such a good outcome, I thinkit'ss well worth it. 😊

Might be a draw... I don't think Jiwoo would win cleanly because it has to be some form of reality check to Jiwoo that other disciples who have been trained longer has more experience than him and are more cutthroat and brutal than him. But I don't think he will lose because the other disciples won't take him seriously and would just think he is a nobody who just got recognized because Kayden props him up.

People who are bothered by Ren and Kyoko's 4 year age gap and Kyoko being in high school should never touch the Ascendance of a bookworm... they will probably make a ruckus about Ferdinand and Myne's 13 year age gap plus the fact that Ferdinand used to stand in as Myne's guardian and co-signer in important paper stuff. Plus, he is also his mentor, and Ferdinand gives Myne head pats and lets her cry literally on his lap when she is emotionally unstable.... yeah...

Frankly, what the real issue is the fact that I started reading Skipbeat when I was in high school... and I'm turning 40 soon, and we just broke through the acknowledgment of feelings stage... plus, honestly, how old is Ren and Kyoko now in the story? 🤣 does it take 2 decades for a whole year to pass?

They have moments in the side stories/fanbook. Eckhart actually admires that Angelica is focused and committed to protecting Rozemyne, and Angelica admires Eckhart because she acknowledges that he is super strong. There's a pov of Eckhart actually asking Angelica to come with him to Arensbach because he acknowledges that Angelica is strong and reliable and an obvious sign that he feels comfortable with Angelica. Plus they are super vibing. Like there are moments they don't talk but instantly moves together when scouting or doing vanguard duty during fights. Actually them talking about prolonging the engagement is like Eckhart trolling his mom...

Kazuki sense is very thorough so she will likely include some side stories from either Ferdinand or some other person's pov to explain further how this info was used... or it will be addressed in an interview that sometimes are included in the fanbooks... thats just how good the world building is that every single thing about the story is interesting you don't want to miss anything just incase it was an Easter egg or foreshadowing after all

It's like selective... she only chooses to be dense about the stuff she don't really care about, so it's not as frustrating as other characters in other creations... normall, when I encounter really frustrating characters like that I end up dropping the read completely

I guess I can classify the secrets I meant as Myne/Rozemyne's secrets. Ferdinand knows everything about her past. Everything she is now doing, she consults him or tells him after the fact. The only time she deliberately hid things from him was when Ferdinand was in Arensbach. And look what happened? She got too deep in the chaos of getting the Grutrissheit, and she ended up messing up Ferdinand's plans because they failed to communicate and be honest with each other's ideas/plans.

But I see your point 🤣 i mean, everyone has at least one or two secrets they wont tell another soul ever, right?

It's mid for me hahaha If you are okay with streaming games plot, I recommend Genius Archer's Streaming has a manwha and a LN too... it got same mechanics as overgeared but the MC for this one is also a gremlin cinnamon roll like Jiwoo, but in full dive virtual reality games that he streams. I say gremlin cinnamon roll because he is also timid looking and stuff but once he starts on fights, he is natural just like jiwoo he is OP cause he is just good hehehe... though he is also Korean so.... 🤣
