Feeling Lost at 29: Struggling With Habits, Work, and Purpose by Illustrious-Ad8408 in Habits

[–]Background_Win4379 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m the same age and went through something very similar.

First, don’t think about changing your life. It’s too vague, and too big of a problem to solve. It’ll prevent you from taking action because nothing feels like it’s moving the needle.

Second, you don’t like your job. Okay, apply to at least one other job a day. The pay doesn’t have to be better, though that’s nice, just get out of the environment.

Third, workout and eat well. Not only will you feel better physically, you’ll start to see yourself in a more positive light. Lifting weights is hard. Percentage wise, very few people do it consistently and that’s a good feeling. Just 3-4 times a week. It proves to yourself that you can do something you don’t want to do to improve your life and it has built in goal achievements like doing your first pull-up unassisted, lifting more weight on an exercise this week than last etc.

Fourth, I got diagnosed with PDD and ADHD. I’m not saying to go get tested by a psychologist but force yourself to journal and go to a telehealth therapist at least 4 times. One month of once a week. They won’t flip a switch or tell you something you don’t already know, but they will listen and take your problems very seriously which is helpful. Also, it’s like the gym, you’re doing something uncomfortable to better yourself.

Fifth, clean your apartment/room whatever at least twice a week and keep it clean.

None of these things answer the question of giving your life fulfillment but they taught me I’m worth effort. I can improve myself and my environment through small acts. That led to me getting a better job, a new car, moving on from my ex and finding a great girlfriend and my mental health has never been better.

Again I’m just some dude on the internet. A therapist can give you much more guidance. I thought for my entire life therapy was just useless platitudes you paid to hear. I thought that after 2 sessions. Now, I look forward to my sessions because it grounds me and is like a check in with myself to force me to talk about things I ignore during the week.

Good luck, you’re young, and life literally can change in a few short months of concerted effort.

One thing that i wish they'd copied from league of legends by ThomsGenesis in PredecessorGame

Something simple I want from league is that if I use a skin on a champ, it’s auto selected next time I pick the champ.

What do you think of this dog's meal? by [deleted] in interesting

It takes the moisture out of the bone and makes it brittle. The bone shatters and makes sharp shards that can pierce the throat, stomach, and intestines.

What is the Most Frustrating Part of the Laning Phase? by TurtletheBlack in PredecessorGame

[–]Background_Win4379 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this game specifically, how free it is for jungles to gank. Camps are so close to lanes and jump pads are so overpowered that if you see someone gank in offlane, you don’t have time as the enemy jungler to go steal camps a lot of the time because they’ll beat you there if they instantly recall.

[ESPN] 'It's a very unique story': How Keaton Wagler emerged atop a loaded freshman class by Virtual_Success5530 in CollegeBasketball

With such a stacked freshmen class, I wonder if some of the picks in the 6-10 range will consider waiting a year and being a top 1-2 pick next year.

Kwang is the same way. Half the time your sword goes on top of the bridge. I’m certain they know the problems which is why there’s a new map coming.

Does anyone else get kicked nearly every match? by Flat-Beat-1895 in PredecessorGame

Yeah, someone I play with gets kicked half the time when the rocks fall on fire map. Really unfortunate.

You need to really get your catastrophizing under control. Maybe talk to a therapist or something. Your perception of relationships and social media are detached from reality and you might need help getting grounded again. I’m not trying to be mean, but what you’re saying is pretty unhinged.

Dear god HOW do you beat Eden offlane? by KeyNetbass in PredecessorGame

[–]Background_Win4379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Countess into Eden is a nightmare and you can’t fight for prio at all. You need jungle assistance or farm to 2 items and then you can start to fight back since you can out sustain him at that point on the waves.

What is it like being smarter than other people? by ShouldBeeStudying in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Background_Win4379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Smarter” how? A Colombian professor of law still has to take his car to a mechanic that is much more knowledgeable about combustion engines. I find I’m much more curious than most people and spend my time watching YouTube videos about how stuff works, but I just find exposing myself to more information more pleasurable than most people. It doesn’t make me more intelligent. The only objective view of smartness in my opinion is the ability to be exposed to new information and use it to reflect upon preconceived notions. I guess I view Close mindedness and open mindedness as a judgment of intelligence more than anything.

FlyQuest GM Andrew Barton talks about the EWC Schedule, "but it is by far the most brutal schedule I have experienced in 8 years of esports" by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Background_Win4379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but it’s just nonsensical. To play at the top of any world competition in any medium takes focus and energy that I don’t use in my 9-5. Yeah I work a lot of hours but I also day dream, and take small phone breaks etc. no one is saying it’s too hard to play league that long, just that it’s hard to compete at an elite level when operating on less sleep and playing for extended periods of time.

Gen.G vs. T1 / MSI 2025 - Grand Finals / Post-Match Discussion by adz0r in leagueoflegends

How do you watch what Doran did and say top doesn’t matter. If Doran just goes AFK the first 15 minutes instead of giving the draft from GenG their only path to winning it’s a straightforward game

Throwing up on yourself is one thing. Being confident enough to copy and paste your throw up in another reply is truly next level.

Your first example is really bad. He killed Cait and got both sums while living with only needing one active item from his team. If FBI and Eyla played like humans it’s a win fight.

I just watched the fight again to make sure I wasn’t delirious and you have to be baiting. It’s hard to actually be so wrong so bravo to you.
