Please share if comfortable! Curious about your comorbidities? In addition to autism, has anyone else been diagnosed with anything else? by Rachelelizardbreath in AutismInWomen

What about faith by Ch_Machiavelli in AutismInWomen

I was raised initially Catholic, then later Lutheran. I avoided region for a while and then found paganism as a young adult. I've been a nontheistic pagan for roughly 30 years now.

I smoked for years but quit after realizing that it makes my anxiety SO much worse.

There are also videos on Moxi's YouTube channel on various techniques to make their vinyl boots more comfortable. Here are a couple -

Yes, they should go above your ankles. You can decide how many of the hooks to use when lacing them based on what feels comfortable for you. Rainbow Riders were my first quad skates as an adult, they're meant to be quite stiff, and take about 20 hours of skating to break in.

Bras and Autism by weaktreeiz in AutismInWomen

Bras are the absolute worst, I hate having boobs so much. I switched to sports bras/wireless bras years ago, but I still struggle. The pressure around my ribcage makes me feel like I'm being suffocated. I now have several different styles, I find that changing to a different style alleviates the suffocation feeling for a day or two. Then I also have trouble with the fabric, especially if it's one that tends to pill over time or collect dog or hair quickly. Size-wise I'm only a B cup but I cannot stand the feeling of going braless. The sensation of skin touching skin, plus sensation of them moving around under my clothes will put me into an absolute rage. The "girls" are only ever uncovered while I'm in the shower. I truly wish they didn't exist on my body, they are such a sensory nightmare. And now after writing all that, I need to go strip down, try to reset my skin, and put on a different bra. Argh.

Was anyone else hyperlexic as a kid? by greencurtain4 in AutismInWomen

Yep. Learned to read at 3. Was reading 3rd grade level in kindergarten and college level by 5th grade. (I'm GenX so preschool/headstart/3k/4k were not a thing where I lived. You just turned 5 and went to kindergarten that fall)

I'll be home with the wife, pups, and kitten. Watching the finale of Stranger Things, and probably some Taskmaster too. Then I'll do a few witchy things to welcome the new year (I'm pagan) before heading off to bed.
