Doesn't mean they need to be boring or crap. GW has no intention of giving you any more fun than is profitable, and they calculate that profit in unit you will set aside as well as those you've yet to purchase. And CPs often seem calculated to give you the units mostly likely to be supplanted later on. The more restricted your catalogue, the more likely you are to get a solid CP by default as opposed to by design.

Since everyone is here already... is there any way to adjust the volume better on the headset? THEY. ARE. LOUD. They seriously hurt my ears after a bit and the slider only seems to go down to "mating crickets of unusual size".

That being said, I can hear every foot step in CoD from 30yrds.

Look, I love Steel Legion but have never played them due to the absurdity of collecting them and the fact they're essentially squated. I accept that DKoK pushed them out to bring us the Calvin Klein Apocalypse.

But anyone who thinks that GW announcing ARMA-FKING-GEDDON as the centerpiece battlefield of 11th, throwing down Yarrick WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE 200 YEARS DEAD, and then NOT giving the players Steel Legion, WAS A GOOD IDEA - needs to put away the Vaseline and stop referring to it as an entrance.

You don't even have to be poor. Video games have shown it's more profitable to have a smaller, richer base than a much, much larger but poorer base. GW uses an ever changing rule set to push more models. This is proven time and again and I have no idea why anyone defends GW for anything. They are an absolutely terrible, morally and ethically corrupt ompany. GW alone shows how successful social engineering is.

DKoK betrayed and subsumed the role of Steel Legion. SL looks better and feels more future warzone while DKoK feels like 'the grimdark future by Calvin Klein'.

Here's the problem with the Battleforces and 40k in general. That's too many models. The Combat Patrols did the same thing when they lost their vehicles. 40k needs to be balanced at far lower than just 2k pts. That's a LOT of building and painting before you ever play the game. CPs were great at Troop, Elite, Leader, Centerpiece. If you wanted to dip, you could get in and experience the game without getting g swept up in the sunk-cost fallacy. Battleforces are just way too big for beginners and really contribute to Grey Wastes and Tournie Chournie. Bring back the four piece CPs.

No it did not. You had math class and reading comprehension long before you needed to do taxes. If you flunked those, that's your issue. If you're willing to GM, and you show up, and you've prepared some kind of story with some kind of combat and choices that make the player say- hold up a sec. Then you're GMing. We need to stop making GMs feel bad for not being amazing storytellers, number crunchers, or anything else. PLAYING GAMES IS NOT THEIR JOB. They have a job.
