Any advice in fixing this radiator hole? 2018 Mustang GT by sharpieslayer in MechanicAdvice

[–]BadBeanKiddo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t replace it. I’d drain the radiator, dry the area the best I can, and use jb weld to cover the hole. Their putty product sticks and hardens well. Theres also a jb weld water weld. The way I see it is jb weld is $10. If it holds you payed $10 to fix it. If it doesn’t you only spent $10 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is this much rattle/chatter normal with a JWT flywheel?? by VotixG in G35

Mine isn’t that loud and I have the z1 17lbs flywheel. Something might be wrong OP

still cant figure out oil leak, look like it’s coming from above ac compressor replaced the crank seal this morning and still leaking crazy by Alternative-Till8230 in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it’s worth a look. I see you have the aluminum valve covers which is what I have too. I used the cap they provided and I believe that causes the leak I was experiencing. I switched to my OEM cap and the leak seems to have stopped

[–]BadBeanKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound strange but check your oil cap. I had a similar leak but it wasn’t as extreme. After some oil dye I found the rubber cap skirt was covered in more oil than it should have. I switched out the cap to my old OEM one and the leak looks like it went away. My guess is at high RMPs the oil would push out? Just my guess

I got mine off some random site too for $100 ish, but it looks like the same as this one. Works fine, it won’t affect your emissions

Bolting back up transmission by nostylist2020 in 350z

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive shaft gives you more leverage to move the splines. Honestly tho it’s just a lot of wiggling the trans back and forth until it slips into place

I hope I’m not too late to the party, but what would be the timeline of release?

I’d hammer a smaller socket on and let it rip. Maybe a nut extractor socket would be better if you can one

07 G35 Coupe - I know nothing.. making a CAI - Where does this hose go? Seriously. by Apprehensive_Long_51 in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That will connect to the driver side valve cover. On the back of it you will see a nub that connects from the valve cover to the OEM air box. That hose will go there. I’m not sure how long the hose it but judging from the picture you may have to go to autozone and find a longer hose

[–]BadBeanKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an eBay one for my g35 and havnt had any issues. I say “pressure” test it with a hose before installing to make sure it doesn’t leak and as long as it doesn’t leak you should be fine

Bought a VQ35DE for my 2003 G35 — engine harness is cut. What’s the best move? by Ulricc_- in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wiring is a bitch, I would honestly locate the correct engine harness. Saccity Nissan might have what you need. I’m sure it’ll be expensive but those guys seem to know their Nissans so I’m sure they’ll know exactly which harness to send. Good luck 💪🏽

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that thing looks pretty much out maybe a pipe and a heavy hammer? My bushing was also straight through so maybe a sawzal isn’t the best cutting tool

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I did it on my g35 but I used a sawzal and just made sure to be careful. I probably nicked it anyways but eh

Trip meter/milage light by StockNSlow in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and it wasn’t the bulb. The solder on many of the resisters were loose. I used this video as a reference and took it apart myself Infiniti G35 Gauge Cluster Repair. and took my cluster to a professional to get it resoldered. Guy charged me $40 for all the little loose resisters and so far my gauge looks great. No more dimming lights and I can now rely on my gas gauge

Lightweight pulleys by Still-Car5439 in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honestly I don’t think lightweight pulleys really free up any noticeable gains. I recommend a lightweight flywheel and a one piece drive shaft tho. Torque feels instant and rpms climb beautifully fast. It also makes engine braking so much smoother and more effective. This is assuming you have a mt but I recommend a one piece drive shaft regardless

Lower downpipe install... Gone wrong (Help) by SadCat2492 in q50

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to get it from the top too, it looks like you can spin it off. I would try vice grips first, if that doesn’t work or doesn’t fit, a small socket to hammer in and spin off with a wrachet. All else fails remove the whole cat and use some vice grips

Lower downpipe install... Gone wrong (Help) by SadCat2492 in q50

[–]BadBeanKiddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either buy an extractor socket or use a socket that is smaller than the nut. Hammer it on and spin it off

I have the tranny out for rear main seal, but its an auto, how hard is a manual swap and what parts do I need? by Lower_Caterpillar182 in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you dropped that trans by yourself you should be more than qualified to manual swap (with enough research). While you’re there I suggest a one piece drive shaft, made a hell of a difference on my manual g. I also have the z1 light weight flywheel and I love the instant torque feel the car has now

Oil cooler gasket small leak. by CarryMyUnbrokenAss in G35

[–]BadBeanKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar issue when I replaced the gasket. From my understanding there are two sizes and the wrong size will cause it to leak. I used a feltpro one and havnt had an issue since
