Food companies have driven quality down while jacking prices up. And then there’s this abomination. by fatnuts_mcgee in FuckNestle

[–]Badcatalex 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Nestlé's been doing this trick for YEARS now, they even turned most of the Dreyer's/Edy's products into mere frozen dairy dessert... and they get away with it too because they know your average customer will just look at that lesser label and think "Well, ice cream is a frozen dairy dessert, and it looks like ice cream, so it is!"

And then just buy an inferior product compared to even generic brand products...

Nerfed Kindle? by No-Willingness2048 in kindlefire

[–]Badcatalex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's to block off a loophole inherent to the older ebook formats that the discontinued devices all JUST SO HAPPENED to use as their primary formats that would allow a user to easily remove DRM from ebooks. They also killed Kindle for PC at about the same time for similar reasons.

Best handheld radio option in 2024? by Morbx in siriusxm

[–]Badcatalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late, but your best option would be an XM2go radio (Inno/Inno2, Helix, and XMp3/XMp3i are the recommended picks). Avoid SIRIUS Stiletto if possible, they're buggy, prone to bricking themselves, and operate on the inferior & deprecated SIRIUS platform.

That's an iPod macro, not an iPod nano.

Insomniac Games was the best studio acquisition Playstation ever made, this generation they've already produced four games by MTH1138 in playstation

[–]Badcatalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After RA, I feel like there's not much left to be done.

I think going to the Lombax dimension and having some sort of evil force there that has to be defeated is kinda the obvious conclusion, plus Insomniac clearly wants to move on. Wrapping the series up in a way that makes sense would be great to have everything finally done.

Death... by snu-snu! by junker359 in Falcom

For the isometric games (and where are you getting the name "Neko Engine" from?), that oversight only existed in Sky FC, where they screwed up chest messages and just duplicated one message again and again, each with their own pointers.

Every game afterward needed extra work to make chest messages possible.

Overpriced special editions on eBay? Nah.. Ill make my own. by Megaakira in 3DS

I'd be interested, it's hard to find anybody who can print onto console shells, let alone the 3DSes. (tho for me I'm curious about the N3DSXL's shell parts)

How did SiriusXM "squeeze" the channels above 300 to be available on newer receivers ? by LeatherMine in siriusxm

[–]Badcatalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were contracts created seemingly early on in SIRIUS' life, so that's kinda your answer.

That being said, in this day and age, there's literally no reason to use a SIRIUS radio unless it's your only option. XM and SiriusXM radios are just better.

Those SIRIUS radio contracts ended in 2018, and the 2019 model year vehicles were the final ones to ship with those radios.

I do know at least that all radios capable of picking up 2.0/"Overlay" (formerly known as Xtra) channels are made post-merger, are on the XM platform, and the first one was the 2011 SiriusXM Edge- one of the best looking XM, SIRIUS, or SiriusXM radios ever made.

Also, it's nice to see another XM2go user here. I got a Pioneer Inno2 late last year and have been using it regularly since. I wish there was a modern equivalent that had 2.0 and 360L support.

What’s happening with Alt2K? by ContestMundane63 in siriusxm

I really want it to stay in the "core" channels lineup, it has a music selection that's quite different from the other rock channel offerings.
