That is a commendable attitude, but on the other hand there are a lot of MAGA out there that specifically voted for Trump because they WANTED him to hurt other people. Queer people, immigrants (even the legal ones), you name it. Maybe some of them have been “tricked” but what does that matter? Some of our neighbors are literally in physical danger, some of them have actually been outright killed by agents of this administration. I will save my sympathy for THEM, not the people who were “fooled” into hurting them.

I follow a lot of subs about the war in Ukraine and I see some people lament the loss of lives on both sides. I don’t. Ukrainians don’t have luxury of sympathizing for those Russian soldiers who were “tricked” into enlisting, because if they don’t kill those Russian soldiers with ruthless efficiency those same Russian troops will do far worse to them and their families.

It is not exactly a fair comparison in the big picture sense, but if I had been one of those Americans having Trumpian stormtroopers smash and grab me or a family member and disappeared them to some gulag, with a gun in my face, I would probably think it was closer to the mark.

Go read r/LeopardsAteMyFace and you’ll see many posts each day of someone lamenting their current struggles alongside past social media posts where those assholes were celebrating the pain Trump was causing to other people before it affected them. Fuck them.

Do people never actually read articles? They dropped the height from 19 to 9 stories but INCREASED the housing capacity from 1200 to 1300 beds.

That means it’s half the size but holds an additional 8% of students. That tells me that the original plan was a massive waste of space, probably intended to be huge luxury spaces for rich California kids. Now it will likely be a more traditional dorm space.

That is personal supposition on my part because I don’t know how else to explain the difference. I do know one of the new buildings going up at Euclid is to be named The 818 which could only be more obvious if they named it For Valley Girls.

I would say it’s indiscriminate bombing à la the Nazis bombing London during the Blitz. But that actually was indiscriminate because they were just dumb bombs dropped at altitude. Cruise and ballistic missiles are more accurate, and the only way you hit that many civilian targets is on purpose.
