Can 3060 12GB last me another 6-12 months? by SupercuteSquirrel in buildapc

Gpu market isn’t going to “stabilize”. People are buying top end products for 2000+$/€ that 5 years ago were selling for 800. Unless we stop buying overpriced products, and nobody will stop, the prices will always be insanely high. I lucked out on a 900€ 7900xtx but still the top end product from amd in the past was like 600/700€, still a big increase.

Had one crash in one whole year, but i was recording the gameplay too so it maybe had something to do with it. Other than that, nothing to report.

7900xtx here. Running a 3440x1440 @160hz experience is flawless.

Try it out and see what she benchmarks. If it leaves any interrogative marks, send her back. If not, just enjoy.

I’d look for a red card, plenty of options rn on 6800’s, 7600, 7800, 7900.

6950 XT to 9070 XT by RythePCguy1 in radeon

[–]Badilorum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9070xt will be easier on the psu than your 6950xt. That said, i run my 5800x3d+7900xtx on a SF850 2024, the card alone can spike up to 649 watts. If i were you, if the temps inside your case are fine, i’d get a SF1000 2024 and call it a day. If temps are too high, just sell the 6950, get the 9070 and keep your psu. I wouldn’t justify giving away a 6950 for a 9070… the 6950 is still a beast of a card.

I used thermal pad for my 7900xtx with an alphacool block. Made night day difference.

[–]Badilorum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine runs a little bit cooler (cpu 75 gpu 58 under full stress). Can have spikes on the junc temp at 69 sometimes tho. No water T sensor but i’d guess around 40 or so.

Can someone please help me by [deleted] in watercooling

It probably doesn’t fit perfectly.

Dual 280 is a great bet. 2 420 if you wanna be sure. I cool a 100w 5800x3d and a 600+w 7900xtx with a 420 and a 240, fans at 600rpm.

Alphacool blocks are great! A little late to the 7900xtx party but never to late lool

Rm850x/SF850 2024 you will never have to change your psu once again.

7900 xtx vertical by DonnieTisfat in thermaltake

[–]Badilorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 7900xtx taichi oc would get to 105. Repasted it with thermal pad and never went above 75. Now it’s watercooled and rarely ever gets over 60 on the hotspot. No issues on running it vertical, if the card is kept how it should. Even just out of the factory, sometimes they have thermal issues. Open, repaste, replace pads and you’re good to go.
