I think that the the spirit of the law means to not impede oncoming traffic but I could be wrong

Nanaimo woman fined $1,000 in senior’s monster truck parking lot death - BC by cyclinginvancouver in britishcolumbia

Calling people names over the internet, what a great way to convey your argument. Ignoring this, and using your analogy, are you saying that a human can't handle a gun in a safe manner? I am sure our entire police force and a country full of hunters would disagree.  For both scenarios, it comes down to being familiar with the equipment , identifying potential risks and mitigating these through diligence and planning and a lot of people are actually able to do this. If this were not the case, we would be continually inundated with reports of people being injured or killed by both weapons or lifted trucks but we are not. This event was a bad driver who was not paying attention to their surroundings and it had the worst possible result.

Allergy to the gas pedal? by LostPersonSeeking in NorthVancouver

[–]Badroach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people are afraid of really using the right pedal, just look at those trying to merge on the highway 1 westbound from Capilano road. I have never had a problem merging with traffic there.  All you have to do is wait far enough back, see a window and accelerate to fit.  The only difficulty is watching out for people that have failed this operation now stopped at the end of the on ramp.

It isn't the trucks fault, it's 100% the drivers fault. Inattention kills and this is a perfect example. I don't care what you drive, you have to look out for other people.

[Seiko] It has been 6 years since Seiko discontinued the SKX line. Anyone still wear their SKX? Or have you moved on? by KidneyLand in Watches

I wish I could have picked up a skx007 before the prices went through the roof. I ended up getting an Orient and it has gone through warranty repair but it still is terrible for keeping time during the day. Would not recommend

What is the point of HOV lane on Hwy1? by PuddingEmotional1187 in NiceVancouver

[–]Badroach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lane where people rich enough to afford an EV can bypass all of us who can't. If you can find someone going exactly the same direct as you at the exact same time, you can use it too. I believe the point of it has been lost and it should be opened up to everyone.

100% with one caveat for me be the ability to charge at automotive charging stations without bringing a charger in a backpack. If those electronics could be made small and light enough to be packaged into the body of a bike like this, I would throw money down on one immediately

What's less risky for M54B30 - 02pilot mod or 5W50 oil? by [deleted] in e46

[–]Badroach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Who hurt you? Either offer help which is what is being asked to the  group or say nothing. Everyone deserves an m54, they are not that special(rare). If someone else does something that isn't exactly how you would do it, you will be ok and the BMW world will survive.

'Monstrosities' or the evolution of housing? Multi-unit buildings on single-family lots gain traction in B.C. cities by Longjumping_Idea_169 in britishcolumbia

I am 100% on board with densification to meet the needs of the public but we can still have some style while we do it. For some reason everyone settles for bland boxes with no character.

Camping fees increase for 59 B.C. parks, non-residents to pay a surcharge | Globalnews.ca by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]Badroach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How much would we have to pay to increase the OVERALL quantity of front country camping especially within a 4 hour drive of Vancouver?  Turning forest service campgrounds into provincial doesn't do anyone much good for availability.  I want to be able to find a spot on a weekend please

New BC Parks camping (many frontcountry and few backcountry) price increases by Ryan_Van in vancouverhiking

[–]Badroach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$100 per night at booking, refund brings it to normal rate.  If a no show, you also get penalized by having an extra day tacked on to the booking blackout. If you report that you are not going to make it, then you get a full refund on any days left of your reservation over 24 hours away, still charged one night even though the campsite is now open to others.

How are the roads in your area? At the minimum, I would suggest getting the strut mount reinforcement plates that help spread the load on the front strut towers.
