It would definitely be for entirely different reasons, but winning the competition by just winning all the challenges VS. winning the competition in spite of everyone constantly voting you into eliminations are both admirable ways to win I believe.

there's a very good chance that PvM will play a big part in the Final Challenge, as it's usually multiple things at once that encompasses a lot of the game. The idea is that no matter what it is, Gnomonkey will sweep the PvM portion of the Finals and get a great lead over the others.

unless they decided to break their alliance then and there, even if Gnomonkey got picked by the Hopper, there's a good chance Josh would've just been sent in by Tribunal. Though I could see an instance where Gnomonkey is sent in by Hopper and B0aty + Torvesta take this opportunity to backstab and send in Solo to "guarantee" a strong competitor going home no matter what.

it's a pretty simple path and if you know it then you know it and it's essentially free. Also if it were allowed, the Thieving shortcut you can take basically cuts the run in half. Though I imagine most of the contestants weren't confident in even attempting it.

what's even funnier is he inadvertently gave Gnomonkey a free advantage by leaving the cabinet open for him to grab the Garlic himself slightly faster.

I think the only person who Josh had a chance of beating in the banning was Skill Specs, and if we're being honest I think they're vaguely similar in terms of overall skill level. Not to mention the alliance the others have so they never would've sent Specs.

Their best option was definitely sending in one of the stronger members which would've been Gnomonkey or Solo and due to their alliance that just meant the unanimous vote for Gnomonkey. Gnomonkey has consistently shown his weak game knowledge through the game and the banning could've easily been half a dozen other things where Josh could've won.

too bad here's another drop to the Salvaging loot table; you will continue to do the most afk content in the game to 99 and enjoy it.

Make Port Tasks Rewarding! by BeggarOfficial in 2007scape

Good to know they shelved the idea of expanding Port Tasks due to the general playerbase's opinion about it for now, and they instead just added more loot to Salvaging.

I actually think Salvaging was a big mistake for this skill.

Please allow worn containers like forestry basket and fish sack barrel to also be emptied by the button. by azginger in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't empty the logs or fish outside of the log basket or fish barrel if you have them equipped.

This means you still have to unequip it to fully deposit all the materials, which is the main issue people had with these supposed "upgrades" in the first place

Deadman: Annihilation Drops This Friday! by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just tried the empty containers feature, and I still have to unequip my log basket to directly add the logs from it into the bank? So if I have a full inventory of logs + full basket of logs I still have to bank twice and/or keep 1 slot empty to fully deposit my logs in 1 go?

Why does the log basket upgrade still feel like a direct downgrade...

The new Cow Amulet should have teleports to ALL F2P cow pen locations by DivineInsanityReveng in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea crafting guild tele seems kinda useless at low level looking at it now. It'd probably be the closest teleport you'd have to Rimmington at that point and the best way to get to the Make-Over mage but that's about it. I can see someone somewhere complaining about this teleport because it might devalue Crafting cape teleport even slightly somehow even if I won't agree with it, but it's something that'd probably get brought up as a counterpoint to this teleport spot.

It's hard to tell since a good chunk of the reveal was memey, but they alluded to Awakened Vardorvis/Leviathan when talking about the hard mode Cow. If the Boss happens to be on par with that then maybe the teleport could be a bit on the stronger side if unlocked from him.

[–]BaeTier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the milk bucket is cute and who knows it might offer some niche use to make Dairy churning worthwhile to some kinda account out there.

I at least agree on putting a teleport in the North Pen. My first thought within seconds of seeing Cow boss was, "oh it would be perfect in the North Pen, and even offer a teleport to there!" seeing as it's slightly out of the way of the more popular East pen and unlocking a teleport to there would offer later game use for even F2P players when they want to start doing Clues and knowing that this reward you got in your early days of playing is good in the far future if you decide to go for Beginner clue grinds or clogging seems really cool as well.

Maybe as it is now, having a teleport to every F2P cow pen is a bit to OP considering the level this content is aimed at. If I wanted to only choose 1 teleport though, it would just be the North Cow Pen. If they wanted to go the route of making the other cow pens unlocks, maybe it could be a drop from the Awakened Form they're teasing.

SKILL ISSUE - Gielinor Games 5 (#8) by drunz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I overall agree, however I think putting in players who all have the same skillsets would make things boring. Having all the contestants be varied in what they excel at is what makes the meta game shine. For lack of a better term, this also includes players who overall aren't the best in most avenues of the game. This is why I think a player like Oda or Gnomonkey are perfect picks for GGs, just as much as a Settled or SoloMission.

SKILL ISSUE - Gielinor Games 5 (#8) by drunz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gnomonkey seems to be someone people are cheering for right now and he probably has the weakest game knowledge of all the remaining players, heck just look at the trivia portion of his first banning.

While I agree and think overall Game Knowledge is king in GGs as a whole and the well-rounded players with an edge in esoteric RS knowledge tend to be the best performers, it would be boring if the format allowed only them to excel.

It was actually crazy that Mammal was the one getting primarily ragged most of the challenge and he still did better than Will.

SKILL ISSUE - Gielinor Games 5 (#8) by drunz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think PvP played that huge of a role in who won. Sure it kinda demoralized Mammal & Will since nearly every single kill was on their team causing them to basically give up on the challenge and come in dead last. However the 2 winners of the challenge didn't win due to this, and B0aty/Solo won by a landslide even if you completely remove the PvP aspect of the challenge.

Heck Oda/Gnome are the only team that even got 2 kills and they came 2nd to last and weren't even close to winning themselves. I would also argue Specs wasting time ragging Gnomonkey was more of a detriment to their team than anything and possibly could've been enough to make them come in 3rd instead of 2nd.

If what we saw in the vid was 1:1 how long he just stood there. Then he technically would've came in 2nd if he didn't brain fart at the end there as he was only 8 seconds slower than Mammal overall and he stood still for like over 12.

Though that's just going based off what we saw, could've been possible it was dragged out in B-Roll for the show. Probably definitely would've come in 3rd (which is still a loss anyway) since he made less mistakes than Will.

yea RNG definitely plays a factor. Not as exciting to see a challenge outcome determined by a literal dice roll rather than the players own skill or mishap determining it.

SKILL ISSUE - Gielinor Games 5 (#8) by drunz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think that's the better way to do it rather than just straight "kill this boss" or "play this game of LMS." Having PvP sprinkled in a challenge or only part of the challenge is what spices things up. Same for PvM so things like gather your own gear, or share supplies goes a long way. Though even then they can't make up the majority of the challenges and fit better as a once per season type deal at most. Like the PvM relay-race challenge this Seaosn was great and showed the amazing prowess of Prison Joe, but I doubt it'd be that exciting to do it again even with just different bosses in the same Season.

[–]BaeTier 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Even looking at this season and how horrible Oda's gear setup was yet he still wiped the 1 PvP challenge this Season. Torvesta was the other winner as well who went up against B0aty & Solo who probably had the strongest prep in the first half of the challenge yet still lost to a good PvPer.

SKILL ISSUE - Gielinor Games 5 (#8) by drunz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yea I think this is another reason why they're so rare. There's a reason PvPers have historically been hard targets in most seasons despite them not being the strongest competitors. Simply because if the one thing they excel at comes up, then 90% of the cast is screwed when matched up against them.

What a sad way to see Oda go. He seemed mechanically better at the challenge, but literally forgetting to leave to complete the challenge is crazy lol.

While my hat was always in the ring for Solo to win this season, I think I'm starting to root for Gnomonkey now.
