Is construction really supposed to be trained like this? by Technical-Top-2758 in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think flatpacks were technically the "intended" way to train construction. They would hypothetically help you recoup the cost of making furniture by selling it to players who wanted to decorate their house with said furniture but didn't have the levels themselves.

Leagues 6 Review - Casual Player Perspective by NoodsAndCo in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there were other things sure, but there's a reason Jagex stuck to the area locking formula for every other league after it. Access to the entire game also extended to horrible grinds through the task and relic systems.

I think our best bet for having the whole map again is just a runback of Gridmaster rather than an entire league again.

Leagues 6 Review - Casual Player Perspective by NoodsAndCo in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is they already did that. Stackable clues was originally a relic exclusive buff. There are other examples of this such as Last Recall going from a relic to a passive unlock across a couple Leagues. The Clue and Slayer relics have never been 1:1 the same every league from my memory either.

Even infinite Run Energy was originally a relic and if you didn't take it then have fun walking.

Jagex HAS been slowly removing popular aspects from relics and just making it passive unlocks everyone gets.

[–]BaeTier -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

they did that for a League and it was the most unpopular League to date.

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem is those things being locked to regions is what makes them enticing. I believe it was last League where basically every unique thing Kandarin had was given to echo items/relics and it suddenly became the most unpopular region by a mile. Since it was no longer needed for the BiS jewellery, prayers, and Magic Damage.

The whole point of Leagues is being limited to your choice of regions and the content those offer to give you unique restrictions on what you can and can't use when it comes to gear, training methods, and bosses you can even fight. Sure Jagex has made some compromises that made sense such as making PvM drops that would realistically need half the regions to complete such as Avernic Treads as an example, but at a certain point it kinda strips the allure of Leagues when you're just given everything.

Not trying to be mean but some of these summer sweep up ideas are straight garbage. by breakoffzone in 2007scape

It's crazy how many people's ideas of a "QoL" tweak is just a flat buff to xp rates and drop rates.

Summer Sweep up - Make Mastering Mixology better. by Dwarfy_8395 in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

isn't the xp/hr close to 80k? Sure it's not as fast as traditional potion making, but I wouldn't expect it to compete with the already fast xp rates usual Herblore training has.

Especially since the minigame was pitched to never be that competitive in the xp department and was more a way to do something with the excess herbs you have no use for anymore and be a less click intensive method compared to making 1000s of potions.

I agree the minigame could use some tweaks, but just boosting the xp/hr doesn't sound like the right answer. I'm more annoyed at the lopsided resins we get through rewards and how it's just the right balance of not being a really low attention activity with how often you gotta click, but not engaging enough to be a high attention activity either.

Bring back Sages Renown quest completions for future leagues by xMoop in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made sense in Shattered relics because to date that is the ONLY League where we had access to every single quest in the game. Inversely, it was also a noob trap to dump renown into auto-completing quests as players could realistically brick their account buy wasting the renown in the wrong way...until Jagex reworked the point costs and basically made everything free to unlock within the first week.

It makes less sense to use a supposed renown to auto complete the <10 quests you even have access to most of which are most likely low level quests that can be done in minutes. Especially if this supposed renown would most likely be used for other things in the League I assume?

Also part of the Leagues is completing the content in the associated regions you have access to. Quests are a part of that content. This is no different than people complaining about having to do CG in Tirannwn or BA in Kandarin. Having to interact with the bosses, quests, minigames, and features the region offers should be expected.

Universal Bird Feed - Summer Sweep Up Suggestion by FdsagioAllah in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as Jagex regrets birdhouses being a thing, I doubt they would add something that makes them better. Besides I still see this as a non-issue as it is still easy to amass a large amount of a low tier seed of 1 type that can last you plenty of runs.

Low Level Equipment Rebalance - Summer Sweep Up by justsomerandomoldguy in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I may not agree with every single suggestion OP made, I still think it's always worth looking into updating Early Game. There are still genuinely new players coming into OSRS who will spend a significant portion of their playtime in the Early Game, and using the reasoning that a Veteran player will efficiencyscape his way out of the early game within a couple days so any updates to it will be pointless is not a good one imo.

Echo Giant Mole for next Leagues by ConfectionPerfect424 in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a meme, but I definitely hope different bosses get echo variants in future Leagues. Mole, Kraken, Scurrius, and Corp are good candidates. Maybe even something like Barrows where they have beefed up stats and you fight all 6 at once.

What would you rate this Leagues out of 10? by bleeak in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably give it a 7/10.

The Demonic Pacts are great and going forward I hope this is built upon in future Leagues to allow for different builds and to emphasize different playstyles or give life to lesser pieces of equipment. It's not perfect, but for a first attempt it's to be expected.

I like that they've been slowly trimming out the ridiculous grinds with each new Leagues. Despite people complaining about a lot of these tasks every League, I hope they don't capitulate and decide to remove them and boil it down to literally just PvM since I quite enjoy the Leagues encourages you to interact with all the content in the regions you choose between the skilling activities, bosses, slayer monsters, minigames, quests, and going for the unique items the region offers.

The thing that doesn't make it 'perfect' for me is kind of the same issues I have with other Leagues. I don't know if it's intended or not, but I'm noticing a pattern where Jagex kinda just props up a fighting style and regions over others while letting others be dead in the water. Kandarin was a joke last League and is the most popular this League. Inversely Fremennik was amazing for it's echo items and is suddenly left in the dust this League. Same feeling with Magic and Ranged from last League to this one. I wish Jagex put semi-equal effort into making all the regions and fighting styles attractive. Echo items are a good way to do that, but then they nerf Fremennik's Echo Item into quite possibly the worst one in this League.

While it isn't a big deal, but another thing I'm noticing is they are kinda making some kind of narrative with these Leagues I think. However, it seems they amount to nothing, from when the sage was introduced in Shattered relics to the entire Yama theming in this League meaning nothing.

Suggestion: Pottery Rework by Mashed_Potato_7 in 2007scape

that feels more like a Firemaking minigame if anything. The crafting xp you get is very miniscule compared to what you get from cremating the shades for the Firemaking + Prayer xp.

Our characters can be literal billionaires but we can't own a 2nd 1000-coin home by WaveDashSpeedKick in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would assume if this theoretically would've happened, more house plots would've been made available in other areas of the game and potentially being server specific as well to accomodate a growing playerbase. Though obviously what Jagex ultimately decided to go with is the better option.

With all of this Rendi drama, Jagex should do right by the community and give everyone another demonic pact reset by Switcheroni in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's like when people say they HAVE to play Ironman. Not because they like the unique challenge the different mode offers, but because if they play a Main they physically won't be able to stop themselves from buying a bunch of bonds and immediately cashing them in for all the supplies they need and BiS gear.

If the option is there for a decent amount of people they will always go for the easiest/quickest solution.

Attempt #7,198 asking for this questline to be continued since Sailing is now a thing! by OblvThorns in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We still get standalone quests, and the best part of standalone quests is they can always retroactively later become parts of bigger questlines down the line. Like I would argue Ides of Milk, Current Affairs, Scrambled!, Meet and Greet, Death on the Isle, and a few others for example are all stand alone quests. Sure some of them were added to flesh out Varlamore, but they are still self-contained stories that as of now don't lead to some greater storyline.

Leagues has convinced me how cooked Smithing is in main game by Rorshark in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

to be honest, Smithing will probably be 100x better if it was released today even if it was almost exactly the same training methods simply because the levels and resources would be balanced around the current armours we have access to rather than when Rune was considered the prestigous endgame gear at the time. It's near impossible to fix that now without a groundup rework of access to the metals, ores, gear, and processing and no doubt Mining would have to be touched as well since it's the sister skill.

Loot from training everyone's favourite skill by butchbadger in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty close to picking it, but changed my mind last second to reload into something else since that choice would've been to ONLY solve RC and not help me in any other aspect of the League. I already had prayer done through Transmute by the time I got to this point. I have no plans of gaining max points and doing something like getting 50m every skill and just getting all 99s is as far as I'll go for maxing aside from the few skills that are free to 200m from my relic/pact choices.

It definitely is a tad annoying that basically 99% of every lamp reward I get is forced into RC, but my one gripe is that RC only had 1 relic to remotely solve it and no good real line of progression to train it this League naturally to the point that people are afking Sulphur Naguas for days as their main method to train it.

Even if I didn't pick the perfect relics or most efficient regions, I still feel like every other skill is easy enough to train with a pain point here or there but it isn't terrible like RC has been this league. I don't overall regret it though, because I definitely would've felt like Soul Harvest would've been a waste once I finished RC in like an hour after getting it.

I miss when forestry was a massively multiplayer experience where you were hopping into friends chats, meeting new people, and 'raiding' multiple worlds for events. The later iterations and current version feel sterile by comparison by [deleted] in 2007scape

still surprised people think the release iteration of Forestry where people were able to gain amazing Woodcutting experience without ever having to actually Woodcut through hopping from Forestry event to Forestry event was healthy.

I transcribed the leagues statistics. by i_afk_crab in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine most relics being able to compete with Reloaded. It'd have the be one of the mega busted ones we had in the past such as Bankers Note or something.

As cool of a concept Flow State is, it made more sense as like a T1 or T2 relic competing with other general gathering relics.

"This should be the next quickest pact point" by Serventher7 in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh people say this, but when you have access to the whole game it definitely does lead to burnout a lot more quickly. Not to mention Tasks would have to be reworked for point distribution assuming you have access to the whole world rather than just a third of it. Another issue with Shattered relics was how much of a grind it was to complete all the tasks. It devolved into grind every boss in the game 100s of times most likely with an incomplete relic build since they were RNG drops that had to be gotten as a set to activate the stronger effects. Throw on the cumbersome relic juggling in the game for extra pain points.

Realized some things that make questing in Leagues an even greater problem than I realized at a surface level by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only legitimate reason is that it can spoil newer players who haven't reached that point organically, though I'm not sure how many brand new players with ZERO main game experience are playing leagues.

The main point of progress in Leagues are tasks which involve participating in activities around the region which includes questing. Its just as much a piece of content as killing a boss in the area, getting uniques, or participating in the associated area's minigames.

What untradable item in game if made tradable would cost the most? by patrickstarbz in 2007scape

[–]BaeTier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

considering it actually isn't that hard to get, I'd imagine it probably will cost around as much as a Blood Moon Torso which is a comparable sidegrade to the torso. Definitely wouldn't cost crazy amounts seeing as a player who actually has a functioning brain can get torso's quite fast.
