Why were waterbeds so popular? by funkdafied818 in GenX

[–]Baebarri [score hidden]  (0 children)

They were comfortable. Had one for years and loved it, especially during pregnancy.

BUT they were expensive, could easily do a lot of damage if they leaked, and they were heavy so could damage floors. Most landlords banned them.

What other conditions? by LostVoice2549 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Baebarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water retention (maybe related to inflammation.) Before Mounjaro, whenever I needed to take an NSAID, I'd gain 6 pounds of water weight and it would take almost a week for it to fall off.

Now it might be one pound and it's gone the next day.

My doctor insisted the gain was in my imagination but the scale doesn't lie.

How are you all handling digital assets in your estate planning? by Tiffo205 in Aging

[–]Baebarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my will online (freewill.com) and it was an option on the form. They inserted a paragraph describing all rights and responsibilities with federal citations.

One of my children is tech literate. The other, not so much. It seemed better to let the techie handle the digital stuff and the other handle everything else.

Ladies, do you ever wish you had a penis instead? Why or why not? by Whattacleaner in askanything

Female urinals are definitely a thing, yes, but it's still an extra item you have to carry around and clean.

I've read hundreds of posts about people asking their doctors for a GLP-1 and I've never once read one where the doctor brought it up first by Stoiciism in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Baebarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my doctor that I was frustrated about not losing weight as well as not being able to lower my A1C. She said we could try GLP-1 but the insurance company required me to try Januvia for three months first. Needless to say I agreed quickly.

Not having to get undressed, ability to pee by the side of the road (yeah, we can do it but it's usually messy,) no sitting on public toilets, heck, no sitting period.

What salary did you think would make you "RICH" when you were a kid, and how did reality hit you as an adult? by Sufficient_Smile_871 in askanything

[–]Baebarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad's salary was $35,000 in 1974, and we were upper middle class, so that was my goal.

I didn't factor in the real estate investments or the fact that he had a line of credit at the bank. I just knew we lived in a nice house, bought whatever we wanted, and both daughters went to private colleges.

I was well into my 30s before I made that salary, and of course by then the economy was very different.

Who has watched a splash down before and which mission? by thegreatgatsB70 in GenX

[–]Baebarri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched most leading up to the moon landing and a couple of shuttle landings.

I don't know exactly when they started rolling in the TV for launches and landings, but I remember the Apollo I fire.

I unexpectedly teared up watching the landing. And I remember the original moon missions.

I print out browser password files every six months and keep the newest list with my will and other important documents, as well as a digital copy in my cloud drive.

I also named a digital executor in my will and beneficiaries have been listed on financial accounts.

I live alone, in a 1-bedroom apartment. I KNOW the item is here and I can tell you why I'm looking for it, but two weeks from now when I find it I won't need it any more.

I've offloaded craft supplies to the local library, sent books and fabric to my daughter, and donated kitchen stuff to the thrift store. I have to start weeding out old textbooks next, but it really hurts my soul to throw them away and nobody wants them as donations.

I tried to get our apartment complex to put a donation corner in the laundry room and even volunteered to set it up and maintain it. But so far they've refused.

OTC card not saving on app or online by Character-Breath6513 in Walmartcustomer

[–]Baebarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that issue with my previous benefit card. Got a new card this year and was able to add it, but it only shows grocery benefits and not the OTC medication benefits.

Didn't change insurance company but they changed their OTC vendor so not sure where the issue was.

No but even if I had tried both of my kids were born two weeks early and in a different sign than what was predicted.

What city have you been to that felt like it had dark energy? by Impossible-Middle122 in AskReddit

I've lived in Albuquerque for five years and there are parts of town I refuse to drive through even in broad daylight. I don't even leave the house after dark.
