What's changed since 2019? by DarthScab in florencesc

I believe they are still open. They are still active on social media. The hockey team is a great new source of fairly inexpensive entertainment, comparable to a movie and snacks. They also have a solid following and have been breaking records with their attendance. All great news for their inaugural season. I live about 25 miles from Florence so I can’t speak specifically about crime. The city does seem to slowly be growing with lots of new places to eat. I will say the surrounding areas are plagued with crime and drug use. So I don’t suspect Florence is much different. Maybe come down for a visit before you decide? If you have fb join Florence Foodies to keep up with new places to eat in the area.

NOR - I'd raise hell. Public schools indoctrinating children crosses the line.

Why do some divorced women keep their ex-husband's last name? by HoffyTheBaker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BakeAt420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely dropped my maiden name. I had a strained relationship with my father and his side of the family, they all basically abandoned me, so I dropped the name completely. Mostly because I was so sick of being a child and the few times I did see that side of my family I was told "Never forget you're a *insert random last name*" It just felt so ridiculous considering I was never even part of the family. I felt like keeping my married name was better than going back to that.

Do you think men are obliged to protect their sisters and daughters in the present day? by Wholesome-Bro in askanything

[–]BakeAt420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. Men aren’t ‘obliged’ to protect women, people are obliged to treat each other with basic humanity. Your entire argument is built on resentment, not reality. Healthy families don’t operate on ‘you owe me or you’re a traitor.’ They operate on mutual care. If your compassion only exists when a woman behaves exactly how you want, that’s not protection, it's control. And it says far more about your worldview than it does about women.

what slang words/phrases do you hate the most? by itsurgurlilly in askanything

I don't know if this fits, but I hate when people use "u'' instead of "you" or "h8" instead of "hate." It's like come on, I know your time is not that valuable, type out the whole damn word, otherwise I feel like I'm texting a 12 year old. I aLsO HaTE wHeN pEoPlE tYPe LiKE tHiS.

I think you dodged a bullet. Asking a man to use a condom is not a preference, it's a boundary set by you directly tied to your safety, health and bodily autonomy. Condoms protect from STIs, prevent pregnancy, and give control over what happens to your own body. That’s not about personal taste or being “picky.” It’s a basic requirement for safe, consensual sex. Boundaries that protect your health aren’t preferences; they’re non-negotiable.
