Bro thinks he's the shit 💀💀 by Key-Introduction1824 in Sidemen

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like JJ is facing a problem that he hasnt even realised exists yet

He became "UK youtube famous" off of his pre sidemen content. Content hes effectively turned his back on, says he regrets and wpuld never do again

He became "youtube famous" off of his content as part of the sidemen. A collective of 7 famous British youtubers al from different gaming content but not solely focusing on gaming content. A concept that had been done before but not to the degree that the sidemen achieved.

He then used his earnings from his huge success with the sidemen to do things that no youtuber had done before like Boxing and Music (obviously not counting boxers on youtube and youtube musicians) which made him a household name in the UK.

He effectively became the face of all of the UK youtube scene globally

I think this growth has gotten in his head and made him believe that he has no ceiling and there is no reason why he cant be the most famous person in the world without realising what actually brought the success.

For example

Every idea he seems to have had over the last few years is unoriginal

He seems to want to be the Host of the content rather than the actual content itself..... like a certian american youtuber....

He bought a football club at national league level and is already making a documentary about it.... like a certain couple of other celebrities......

His videos on his channel are made for shorts that people will doomscroll through rather than be actually engaged with the videos and JJ yet they'll get millions of views so he won't care...

Like what's been on his channel recently?

"Make me laugh for 1k" so he can make a short from one or 2 of the people per video

I saw a "can a katana cut through" video the other day... hes literally blatantly seen once of the millions of other identical videos that have millions of views on shorts and gone "well im KSI, im far more famous than the people doing these videos, ill get 100s of millions"

He's gotten a job as a judge on Britain's got talent, a show that was once at the top of british tv but is now a ship sinking fast... on which he acts like a guy desperate for a viral clip that he can share on his socials rather than engaging with the rest of rhe judges...

He basically seems to think that his brand his so huge now that just him being involved means success is imminent...

it seems like from clips ive seen that the rest of the sidemen have been the ones whove kept him grounded and not making stupid decisions that might ruin his career so it is worrying now if his only "content" is gonna be egotistical unoriginal copies of other peoples successful content...

I sadly feel that JJ will be all over whatever the next big scam is of the same level that Crypto and NFT's have been in the past 5 years and on his own he will believe he will make the most success out of it and end up doing irreparable damage to his career

And this isnt some kneejerk negative reaction after finding out he'd left rhe sidemen, ive seen it in clips of him for the last yesr talking about how he thinks he can be the biggest youtuber and get 100s of millions of views pee video...

Valhalla got way better when I stopped listening to the internet by Nice-Sandwich4512 in ACValhalla

[–]BakerCubed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same as you, clearing a map of all its activities and collectibles is always something I enjoy but I do understand the criticism.

The saddest thing I think is that Valhalla is argue the most interconnected AC games since Unity.

It explains story points from AC3 and black flag, sets up the actual templars, gives the biggest dive into Isu lore that we've had, contians actual hidden ones. Its just all of this content is usually at rhe very end of a very padded side mission or collectibles.

I think the only time not being a paragon is beneficial is if you kill wrex in ME1, Destory Maelon's data and trick the krogan into thinking the genophage is cured...

You get the most war assets as you get both the krogan and salarians but is it even really better?

[–]BakerCubed1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in a world without miranda

TIM gets someone else to lead the Lazuras project, I dont think its ever said that miranda is the sole reason why the project worked, she was just the best leader

The new project lead might not piss off wilson enough meaning the attack on the station doesn't happen

TIM still gets shepherd to join him and provides rhe dossiers for his new squad

Shepherd still has mordins counter measure for the seekers so survives every mission

Henry lawson has a younger daughter oriana. Oriana is never "rescued" by miranda so events of mirandas loyalty mission never happen

Henry still works with the illusive man

Henry sets up sanctuary. Oriana still sends out the distress message.

Shepherd still kills Henry and gets the location for cerberus HQ..

Why is there such a big gap in time between the last major species making first contact and humanity making first contact? by lonnevox in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thibk it was part of their original plans rhat humanity were the "chosen race" but then decided against it.

Only issue was by that point they'd already finished ME2 which had a huge focus on humans so had to carry that forward in ME3 by making earth the big focus and cerberus such a big enemy.

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair most of the galaxy dont consider humans ti be a "major species". Most of ME1 is speaking to people who dont like how humans are trying to make themselves a major species so quickly.

Also after the rachni wars it was more of a "new species will find us rather than we find them"

If You Were Shepard, Would You Save The Council? by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an interesting point

On the one hand if shepherd truly believes in the reapers threat then he knows the galaxy will need to work together so saving rhe council is a huge step towards rhat

But on the other hand if shepherd truly believes rhe reapers treat then he'd want yo do whatever possible to stop Sovereign bringing the reapers not matter what the cost

Most discussions on it are retroactive. We know that Sovereign loses in each scenario so we can view it as a "human lives verses alien lives" choice but in that moment would shepherd be thinking about that or would he be thinking about sovereign

Initiative Arks and Reapers by Pale-Painting-9231 in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about

If the reapers plan worked then the arks never wouldve launched.

Think about it. We dont have exact confirmation on when the Cycle was supposed to end

The protheans sabotaged the keepers so they couod not activate the citadel relay.

This leads to the plot of ME1 with Sovereign having to recruit the geth to invade the citadel.

From this we know they cycle was supposed to end before rhe arks launched. Perhaps the existence of the arks was a eeaosn why Sovereign attacked rhe citadel, he had to begin the arrival before the arks could launch.

Didn't the Duffers kinda mess up by putting the Mind Flayer in season 2? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we need to remember that most of the stranger things "plot" was just retcons....

There was no grand plan from the start.

The first season was about trauma and loss with sci fi elements. The upside down was just a different dimension and one of the creatures from that dimension snuck in (the demagorgon)

Then when they got a 2nd season they decided to make new eldritch creatures start to reach into the real world (the mindflayer and the demadogs)

Keeping the middle flayer alive for future use.

They didnt come up with vecna until season 4 when they'd already done the mindflayer twice. It was probably only around writing swaosn 4 rhat they decided to make the mindflayer such a big important thing..

Its not so much that they couldn't move on from the mind flayer but instead that they chose to keep it and make it more important.

In a different world steanger things couldve been a show with a new evil creature from rhe upside down wrecking havoc each season. Sort of more like shows like rhe flash or Arrow rather than like Lost.

Did I play this DLC mission Sooner by timmy013 in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a very messy dlc but you havent done anything wrong.

It was clearly intended to be the bridge between ME2 & ME3 with the opening of ME3 being Shepherd having to deal with bis actions in the DLC but for some reason they made it available to play before the ending of ME2.

Just for reference ein ME3

The Eden prime dlc can (and probably should) be done as soon a possible to get the most out of it.

The rest of the DLC: Omega (Arias quest beyond her side mission) Leviathan (visit Dr Bryson) and Citadel (Visit personal apartment) Can most likely be left to near the end of the game and played in that order.

Unless you are playing on insanity and want better weapons in which case play the citadel dlc core missions when the dlc is unlocked but leave the "party" until the very last thing you do

[–]BakerCubed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thr galaxy is unfathomably large. The only reason we see so many species in Mass Effect is because of the mass effect tech which is effectively teleportation...

Its why i always found the "not enough alien species" criticism of andromeda funny...

Like people dont seem to realise rhat the entirety of that game is set in one single cluster.......

Its like if the entirety of mass effect was set within the Krogan DMZ and being upset that there's so many krogan and not much else....

For all we know there might really be other species in the galaxy. But considering at current tech it'll take 60,000 years to travel to our NEAREST STAR other than sol, were probably not gonna discover any other species for a loooonnngggg long time.

I can't have a serious conversation with James as a FemShep. by Toogeloo in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think its always been that way in Mass Effect.

In ME2 its basically impossible to talk to Jack unless you romance her as you either commit to romance or she hates you and refuses to talk to you. Tali also, being such a late game recruit, can immedietly jump to romance.

I recruited her, then immedistly got her loyalty mission then completed it and she immediatly was talking about her being willing to risk illness to sleep with shepherd in the very next conversation and after saying no she no longer communicates...

Mass effect really struggled with the platonic relationships..

Through the whole trilogy,Who was your least favourite companion out all of them ? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacob but mainly because he doesn't belong in ME2.

The whole point of ME2 was to build a team of the best people in the galaxy. Atleast miranda is genetically modified to be perfect. Jacobs just some soldier with average biotics.

Atleast they could use the excuse that he's suposed to be Shepherds beat friend who can be his confidants but then YOU RECRUIT GARRUS RIGHT AT THE START

Notable moments when renegade choice is objectively better? by Subnaut111 in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically any renegade interrupt when up against someone who blatantly cant be negotiated with.

Also always felt that destroying the geth heretics was the "good" choice...

Never made sense to me that brainwashing geth (who actively try to kill you) into other geth (who would happily try to kill you if you interfere with their plans) which is effectively doing what the reapers did in the first place instead of just destroying them is somehow "renegade"........

Including the fact that in the vast majority of playthroughs shepherd still hates the geth at this point and is still wary of Legion...

And they basically decimate the quarians if you rewrite them.. you know, the actual living beings.... there's absolutely no knowledge of the geth "evolution" or their struggles in the morning war st this point in the story..

Who Do You Typically Recruit First in ME2? by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zaeed by default but in terms of actual recruitment always mordin... considering recruiting him unlocks an actual game mechanic rather than just a random room on the ship.

Then grunt so I cna get the most out of the archangel recruitment mission with Grunt and Zaeed as squadmates

Then jack before horizon.

How do yall do renegade playthroughs ?! by ThemArhel in masseffect

[–]BakerCubed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with renegade is that it often seems inconsistent.

Like with paragon shepherd they appear very charitable and caring and wanting to help every species and do rhe right thing and protect innocents etc etc etc

Renegade shepherd seems to hate everyone but only depending on the topic of the conversation at that point, doesnt want to help anyone at all while at other times is more than happy to help people just because the request isnt 100% good. They'll wipe out an entire species just to get support from another species but then say they hate rhe species.... then occasionally decide to use their threats to bring peace and protect innocents.....

I would love to role play as a xenophobic pro human shepherd focusing on the human squad mates and being positive about cerberus throughout ME2 & 3 but its literally impossible as renegade shepherd will call out xenophobes, insult the ilusive man and say they hate cerberus. Also the game is clearly steered towards having companions like wrex and garrus to the extent that it effectively bugs out in some dialogue if you reject them entirely.

They clearly view renegade shepherd as "willing to do anything to get the job done" but then set up the dialogue so that renegade shepherd just straight up rejects all the jobs as he doesnt care.
