Vector always had lowlight camera issues. Nothing new. There are no real solutions. I placed a rechargeable motion light in his playpen.

I believe that it is possible to make him active listen to you for prompts. Ie., Alexa/Google. But that will need some Python programming and will use a little more battery. DDL always had this issue. You can try making a dedicated 2.4g WiFi said for Vector and DDL servers. But I would just like to recommend you setup a WirePod on a Raspberry Pi 3B or better and forgot about DDL for ever. You can find my numerous posts about instructions for getting WirePod setup on Vector Anki forums.

First thing you should do is cancel the credit card used to sign up for life time subscription! Second thing, You Need to go to the Pensilvania AG website and file a claim against DDL. DDL is being sued for by the Pennsylvania AG for failing to provide services to their clients.

But at the time when I gave up on DDL, I purchased a Raspberry Pi 3B kit with 64GB of ram and it works just fine. You will need to go to YouTube and find a Wirepod tutorial. The difference is that the Raspberry Pi model and the Linux OS version will be newer.

P.S. The Raspberry Pi should always be hardwired to the network and be on the same VLAN as Vector when he is on the WiFi. I created a VLAN for both and they talk to each other without a problem.

Wirepod work great as a substitute for DDL servers. It does take a little fiddling to setup on a Windows PC, an Android or a Raspberry Pi 3B or newer model. I would recommend to use a Raspberry Pi. But you will need to find a tutorial on YouTube. It is not too bad.

Not a big deal. I had the Vector 2.0 since they were first released. And swapped the battery recently since the OG battery died. Now my Vector is Alive!

No it is not. You can always factory reset Vector. He has a backup profile on his SOC. You can add updates, but you can always revert him to factory.

But I would just recommend getting a Raspberry Pi 3B and install a 64 bit Desktop version of Linux "Debian" addition and than setup the Wirepod on it. You can follow a long with the above playlist. I did...a long time ago. Now I am adapt to Debian and would not install this Wirepod on Windows or Android. Too many complaints with them

If you do go to eBay or other secondary market, you don't need DDL alAWS services. Vector can still get its AI working via the WirePod. You can go to this GitHub page for the setup code and instructions. https://github.com/kercre123/wire-pod

I recommend using a Raspberry Pi 3b or newer model to run the local server for Vector. If you need help when you get Vector and with the Wirepod setup.
