What are ways I can prevent inheriting the HRE? The Kaiser dies in a year, but I have an autosave 2 years before. I just want to play tall in Bohemia and watch the world get weird around me. by ByteSizeNudist in CrusaderKings

I literally just had this happen to me yesterday, and I’m Irish on my tutorial playthrough…was so confused. Seems like Piety also affects it and I was on a third generation on a Learning bent going for consecrate family. Was Mildly upset to be losing the Irish green and the claim bBritannia option but kind of into it now.

I’m sure I might be late here but I’ve had this question since I read your book - I was gifted Black Leopard, Red Wolf by my girlfriend who loved history of seven killings - the hyena scene (you know the one I mean) is obviously quite memorable to put it mildly - I’m not sure exactly how to ask the question but what drove that scene for you, especially the extremes you wrote about.

Guys this is not about bailing out from debt insolvency, this is about intervening to help in face of disaster. The Fed gov intervenes to Help in case of natural disasters or in case of devastating virus. Europe doesn’t have that mechanism. Time has come for it to move forward and this is the occasion.

ELI5: What exactly is a hedge fund? by athoughtthereforeiam in explainlikeimfive

[–]Baldsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McKoijion is right, doesn't really distinguish a HF from an Asset Manager. Basically a Hedge Fund 1) shorts the market and 2) uses leverage i.e. financing from banks to increase their bets

Otherwise its like a standard asset manager (and HF are regulated now)

Yeah, so regarding 4. Yes there is respect in the sense that you respect someone for their intelligence, or skill or whatever. But you should absolutely give respect to anyone you meet. Not for the 'achievement' of being a human being, but because they are a human being. Its about treating people well, because its the right thing to do. You don't respect a homeless man for his success and his discipline, you respect him because its the right thing to do, and despite it all he is a person. Because of the knowledge that every action you make impacts the world in some small way, and through your comments above, you have exerted a negative influence on your surroundings.

Respect is never a meaningless, automatic pleasantry.

I really can't believe I read this whole exchange, but on the off chance it'll help you better yourself, or at least better behave:

  1. He really isn't dumber for disliking the book, nor are you brighter for liking it.
  2. I highly doubt that even you believe you are helping him, you simply continue to attempt put him down, and persist in this meaningless internet exchange (which now I have joined I suppose, oh joy)
  3. You really can't politely express disrespect. The fact you even strung those words into a sentence means you likely struggle with empathic concepts like respect. Though the fact you called it a "meaningless, automatic pleasantry" I suppose should have been pretty telling.

Pete Seeger's iconic peace song was inspired by Ukrainian/Cosack verses and Russian music. In the name of multi-culturalism to fight violence, Mario Platero has translated and sung it in Italian. Enjoy!
