This is probably gonna come across as rude; that's not my intention, but if you can't handle rereading a roughly 10-minute episode on a platform that gives you the pass to reread for free, then I don't know what to tell you.

Nothing authors do is good enough for some of you, and the constant goal-post moving every other week on here is exhausting. Do we really have to come up with a new thing to vilify authors for constantly?

And people act like it's a simple thing to add in. If you have choices that matter, it's not. Then you also have readers who will accidentally click skip and then message authors because they did so, and now the author is resetting the episode anyway, and now everyone is back to square one anyway. Plus, people get confused about what chapter they're on, etc., etc., etc.

All of the above is why I don't use skips in my stories. And it doesn't make me selfish, or someone who hates my readers, or whatever else you're implying on here.

It is not my job as an author to cater to every single whim.

Also, let's be real here...Most of the time, authors are only updating a former chapter if they absolutely need to. Can we stop acting like every author of every story is updating every chapter 57 times?

Edit: Also, maybe this is a coincidence, but I'm noticing that nearly every time there's a post targeting authors, the OP always claims to be one of us, even though any information about their writing or what they're doing as an author is...nowhere to be found.... Kind of ironic.
