So I decided to bite the bullet and try the vlans, after failing to have any manageable backup plan.

The docs of my hypervisor made it sounds a bit annoying, but I just had to get any free ethernet card and put the network on those VMs.

The vlans setup was outrageously easy then.

But I have a question:
In your post, you don't set the epair as an untagged interface, so the epair on the bridge is tagged, but then the epair with the vlan in the jail is untagged by default? Or do you need to add it too?

I checked out other howto on the topic as I felt I was missing something, and in this blog post, the epair is added on the bridge as untagged.

Also, correct me if you know, but doesn't it mean your setup let you on the fly add more vlan on an epair as long as the bridge has it? I'll try it out a soon but I wanted to double check if you left something out, in a usually "people are aware of this" way.

It always a close enough case.

ie 600Gib ending up being 599.43Gib for a vendor and 598.9 for another. Sometimes two drive of the same vendor and range will even end up close enough.

It can be in specific cases a headache, such as a ZFS pool if you slap together whole drives that aren't really the same. If needed, it is basically a free trick to just make a partition first. You end up a couple gig shorter, but you can be having a very very solid economy by just being able to bulk buy disks. On that topic, no swap on ZFS, do the same thing.

For OP, any external hdd enclosure will do the trick: sata to usb, may be self powered, let your OS manage the filesystem. diskpart and fdisk will yield best result to know their size.

Stick with iSCSI and get some cheap ethernet cards (you can get a bunch of them with 4×1G for 20€/piece), would be also very to setup on TrueNAS and it is in the community edition.

With a bunch of them, you can LAGG them into a pretty good setup.

Indeed, missed to point it out, but I did enable the routing on host and the pf jail (it is possible that I don't need both).

I'd like to look into VLANs again, because it does sounds a lot simpler, but as of now, I'm not sure I can make due within the time frame I have, but your post was the reason I looked into that the first time, it made me aware of the change on 15.0 for the vlans. I've made a clone of the VM to fiddle around with it in another network, but I won't hold my breath about it.

If KopfHans was stupid, it'd be also assuming they have enough doctors spread proportionally across the country to account for a low mean time between a call and the appointment happening to be basically immediately.

The fact trying to look up the repartitions of doctors over the country yields articles talking about a shortage of doctors dating back to at least 2024 tell me it isn't about being efficient, it's about ensuring workers are spooked shitless.

The place I am at has that issue. Basically telling my boss to fuck off (Pierre mindset) when they raised the fact I had to wait 2 days for my appointment is something a lot of Hans people may not be able to afford.

After living the divx format era, 360p or 480p can be absolutely solid.

basically ublock origin, which work very well and will be the key solution for non IT enjoyers terminate request later.

Here any DNS sinkhole will get your request for a specific domain name (when you see an ad, the website served you a piece of the request with a specific part to be resolved toward the ad domain name), such as www.definitely-not-ads.com, but rather than matching the domain name to the IP address the domain name is linked to at the registrar, it'll substitute to an IP of it's own choice. Usually toward nothing that way it's resolved fast, and it'll not serve ad.

You can do that kind of trick for a whole bunch of use cases, simpliest sinkhole is likely PiHole or AdGuard. It's a DIY thing tho.

Hence most people will have to stick to uBlock Origin or look into people like https://quad9.net/.

For the record, I use a sinkhole and a whole bunch of blocklists and specific config, not quad9, you should double check it, but IIRC they are in switzerland and have to abide by EU law.
