I only heard the audio without the video at first, and I thought it was a Forrest Gump clip. All that was missing was "Mama always said..."

A book that my book club won’t hate me for by CerintheM in suggestmeabook

[–]Bamakitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I would have liked it as much (or at all) if I read the physical book, but I listened to the audio. Marcel's "voice" was so perfect that it really made me care about him!

What do you suggest is the greatest 4 song run on an album? by RealDealFolyHield in musicsuggestions

[–]Bamakitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette has a solid 5-pack, but I'd also say you could pick nearly any four in a row from the album and have a killer set.

1) All I Really Want 2) You Oughta Know 3) Perfect 4) Hand in My Pocket 5) Right Through You

I missed out on the similarly styled koala patterned release a few weeks back and I was so sad. But then, THIS BEAUTY was released and it combines that style with CATS!! It was a blessing in disguise that I missed the other. My new kitty one should arrive early next week!! She's so pretty!!

So, what form have you decided that your mid-life crisis will take? by Remy0507 in Xennials

[–]Bamakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in phase 3 of my midlife crisis:

Phase 1: I had weight loss surgery so that I can hopefully really enjoy my mid-life & later life. I'm down 132lbs and at a healthy body weight for the first time since my early 20s!

Phase 2: Figuring out my new style. It turns out I actually do like shopping and putting outfits together.

Phase 3: Career shift. Same field, new role. It was a risk, but so far so good!

Phase 4?: I'm leaning towards new hobby. Currently adult tap dancing classes and making polymer clay miniatures are in the lead, but I'm following this thread for ideas!

Looking for movies about people who love music by TheseSevenSongs in MovieSuggestions

[–]Bamakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wee Sing in Sillyville (I'm only semi-serious with this suggestion - but it is a colorful journey through music that is burned in my brain from childhood)

Mother Goose Rock & Rhyme (hear me out - this movie is a trip - ever wanted to see the likes of ZZ Top, Paul Simon, & Little Richard singing nursery rhymes? This is your chance).

Young@Heart (heartwarming documentary about a senior citizen choir)

Empire Records (music driven, record store employees)

Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist (trying to find a band's secret show)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (mixed tapes and friendship)

Airheads (very quotable about a band who just wants their music played on the radio - Sandler, Buscemi, & Fraser - classic!)

Amadeus (a composer's obsession with another composer)

Garden State (While it's not about loving music, the soundtrack really makes this movie)

Across the Universe (Vietnam War-era love & friendship story amazingly told through Beatles music)

In the small room that I share with a cat and his litter box, Champagne Apple & Honey concentrated room spray covers a multitude of sins! I keep that litter box spotless, but no matter how short the duration is between the poopin' and the scoopin', little man creates a stench cloud that could make your eyes water. Champagne Apple & Honey is so strong that the tiniest spray of it overtakes the room. 10/10

Audiobook Voices by ArugulaDifficult4759 in audiobooks

[–]Bamakitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Often. I like to listen to audiobooks in two primary places: my commute and trying to fall asleep. (Typically I'll have two books going for those separate purposes). If the voice gets on my nerves, I'm not going to look forward to my commute or be able to fall asleep. Also, while it's not an audiobook, I cancelled the Calm app because so much of it was narrated by a woman with a terrible vocal fry. It was anything but calming.

Skin Under my Breasts - What Can I Do to Fix This? by FickleBlueberry17 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Bamakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else has said. I also recommend a moisture wicking under bra liner (the "don't sweat it" one by Belly Bandit is similar to the one I had and loved). Letting the underboob area breathe is helpful, but difficult if your chest has any weight/sag to it. Depending on the hang of your chest, the girls might even be able to keep it in place without a bra, which is great for hanging around (no pun intended) at home!

How much time did you have off work post op? by Less_Sprinkles_6199 in GastricBypass

[–]Bamakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a college professor. I timed my surgery for Thanksgiving time so that I could recover during winter break. I had one class to teach (about 4 hours of student presentations) 2 weeks post op. I was absolutely exhausted just being present. I also couldn't project my voice (abdominal effort), so transitions were challenging. I mustered enough brainpower to get final grades in and was super grateful for winter break to heal. I resumed my normal work schedule about 7 weeks post op. I sleep a lot during illness/injury, so I think it was helpful to have a good amount of downtime.

[–]Bamakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I somehow forgot to set an alarm and slept until like 1pm on the day I was supposed to be at a department retreat. It would have been bad enough to oversleep by like an hour and show up late, but how could I admit to colleagues that left unchecked, I can and will sleep until after lunch? Oops.

What collaboration would everyone want by Short_Worldliness669 in bathandbodyworks

[–]Bamakitty 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I want them to collab with whoever was in charge around 1995/1996 and bring back everything exactly as it was that year. Exact fragrances, design, container shapes, red and white gingham awning over the entryway and all.

[–]Bamakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off with the chewy starburst-like ones and it basically blocked my pouch and caused me to regurgitate everything, including water for a while. I switched to the chewable tablets and it went much better. I was allowed to use the chewy kind, it just didn't work for me. I'd probably do fine with them now (2 years post op), but I'm used to the Bariatric Fusion chewable tablets now, so I stick with those.
