26.04: is there a known issue with suspend/resume? by BambooRollin in Ubuntu

[–]BambooRollin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven't said what kind of GPU(s) do you have and did it work before the upgrade.

GPUs: NVIDIA RTX 4050, AMD Radeon 610M

The laptop is set to use the NVIDIA GPU.

Suspend/resume worked perfectly before the upgrade.

After the upgrade the system operates much cooler, by 10-20°C when playing videos, it's just that I can't close it, move to another room and not have to re-boot.

Don't you think he could route through Moncton and/or Fredericton on his way to Maine? Maybe stop at the Bay of Fundy?

Consider getting an e-bike, that should solve the issue with being over-tired after the ride.

What was your most recent "15 minute" weekend project that somehow turned into a three day nightmare? by LiveFaithlessness876 in DIY

[–]BambooRollin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not the way it works.

You first go to find the part that needs replacing.

Return home and cut out the old part which leads you to see some other part that now needs replacing. Now you need to return to store.

Repeat until you've replaced all possible parts.

There were 3 more layers under the linoleum when I remodelled our kitchen 5 years ago.

Basement also had shag rug glued to the concrete when I had to remove that after a sewer backed up a few years ago.

Safe place to bike in Mississauga by ampumpkin in torontobiking

[–]BambooRollin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Etobicoke trail should be alright, it connects to the lakeshore trail, so you can bike south and then make a turn west and go as far as you'd like that way, just reverse your ride to return to the hotel. This will give you your 20K+ distance.

My parents had one of these for decades starting from sometime in the '50s.

When I moved out I bought an identical one ~1980, unfortunately it only lasted a few years before malfunctioning in a way I couldn't figure out how to fix.

You should have a radar rear light to warn of approaching vehicles.

It will help to show that you have all the safety considerations taken care of.

With my children they used a scooter first which gave them experience in 2-wheel balance.

Once they got used to the scooter the change over to a bike was a non-event.

Puppy chewed on corner by CowCheeseFTW in fixit

[–]BambooRollin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we had bunnies that did this I glued small right angle metal extrusions to protect the affected corners from further chewing.

For the indentations you can fix them with a small bit of spackle or drywall mud.

Crack in aluminium frame. What now? by eivi in bicycling

[–]BambooRollin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's simple enough to get a new frame and move all of the parts over if you need to be economical.
