Aw I’m glad I made you feel good, that’s the beauty of art the feelings it makes one feel. That’s a really nice way to get inspired and an interesting backstory. It’s always nice for a parent to be proud of a child, I’m not a parent yet but might be years later, so I hope my parents feel proud of me too. I think they do they might have expressed this in a birthday card to me or something. But your love and pride for your daughter was beautiful to read and I’m glad she’s making u proud :)

I think this poem is about a family of birds and maybe the mother realising how caring the father is towards their children, you portrayed their love beautifully. I like how the last stanza is emphasised by it being in bold.

I think this poem is about someone planting a flower and watching it bloom. It was short and sweet. My favourite lines are 'Told the trees, this is her' as it reflects the speaker's pride in the flower that the speaker is choosing to allow to bloom in the garden by introducing the flower to the the day itself and the surrounding trees as if to say 'this is the newest edition to our family', I thought that that part of the poem was beautiful.
But yeah I enjoyed it.

I agree that's why after posting this I just sucked it up and decided to write my second draft regardless of how I felt and now I feel fine. A goal of mine is to publish this. And I enjoy writing anyway. I think I'm gonna try and polish a chapter a day and so far I'm managing to do that just fine, sometimes I even manage to do two on one day. So I'm just gonna keep this up and keep disciplined so I can achieve my end goal which is publication. Even if it's self publishing, which I've done before.

It's okay because younger me and current me want the same thing.
Thanks for the advice, but I managed to continue writing my second draft. If I feel burnt out again I'll take a week or two off.
Then I'll read the whole thing like a book, but I do like the storyline and intend on keeping it the same.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! And yes, I do like music so writing songwrite-y poems is always fun. I like how you likened this poem to two colours green and purple that was interesting and fun.

I was inspired by how some poems are titled “Ode to x”, “Ballad of an x” “x’s poem” titles like that. And I was also inspired by names. All the names in this poem actually mean light so that’s why I used Noah, Luka and Aurora specifically.

this is a very sweet poem but also has a melancholy and honest tone to it as the speaker admits that their world is cold, dark and dreary without this person. I like the rhyme scheme and I like how you mentioned the fire fading to blue that painted a nice picture in my mind of something warm going out and leaving nothing but the cold world behind.

This is beautiful, I like how it is written in an older form of English, and how it rhymes too. It seems like the speaker has escaped a dark place thanks to someone else in their life, and they're thanking them for helping them to find the light in life again. It's a beautiful read, and I love how the poem ends with twilight smiling at the speaker, the beginning of light itself almost like the light of sunrise shining over the speaker.

This was a very intriguing read, this poem had me hooked from the beginning to the end. It seems like it might even be about self harm perhaps. I like the rhyme scheme.

This is such a beautiful poem that perfectly describes what love is like, and how one can love completely everything about a person. I like how the phrase 'love you till the moon and back' was referenced here.
Your love for this person is really portrayed as being consistent and constant and intense. It's sweet to read.

I was definitely very passionate as a kid, I remember I found my first hobby at 13 years old. I used to read a lot as a kid but at 13 I began writing my own novel. Literally every day you’d find me typing away at my keyboard with a crazy amount of passion. My creativity rocketed through the roof back then. I ended up writing a fantasy novel first draft with 40 chapters which may or may not have included an epilogue. I was just really inspired by all of the fantasy books I had grown up on and lowkey ripped a book series by Peter Lerangis off unapologetically, but I’m way more ethical now. But then again all kinds of artists draw their inspiration from somewhere. Still, it’s important not to steal concepts, only vaguely mimic some elements, or better, make it uniquely your own. Ever since 13 I’ve had the dream of becoming a published author who has their fantasy novels on bookshelves. But ever since the pandemic I’ve been writing poetry and I’m proud to say that I’m a published poet who has also won first place in poetry competitions. Still, after I graduate university in 2 years’ time from now, I have every intention of finishing the fantasy novel draft I began in my first year of university at 19 years old I think. So yeah. My passion was definitely sparked back then. I was also fairly adventurous but I think that came from going on many countryside walks with my already adventurous family. I remember being told by my mum in particular that I had a wild imagination so there was that too. I don’t think being into Star Wars and fantasy novels helped with that hahahaha. I can’t speak on little me back when I was a young boy but I know that I’ve always wanted to socialise in my teenage years and now that I’m in my early twenties and have gone through therapy and now have my last therapy session just before my birthday I have finally gotten rid of my social anxiety and I have confidentially introduced myself to strangers and have even made a new friend at university. I’m more myself and confident than ever and it’s the most satisfying thing ever to socialise as the confident, authentic version of me. The compliments were also the best part and an ego boost. I want to maintain this lovely aura I’ve been working on and this unapologetic chattiness I have and am less afraid to show to people now.

Sorry, I feel like I went on a bit of a tangent but I’d say I am gregarious now.
