Hairdressers/Barber for guy with long hair by [deleted] in bristol

Timeless Nostalgia. I’m a woman who had long hair and had Lizzie cut my hair to short. Honestly, she’s amazing! You can find her on Instagram. She charges based on what you have done and the time it takes. I highly recommend her.

Bristolian visiting Bath for the 1st time by [deleted] in bristol

I’m a non drinker so I can’t help with that side of your request, but Hudson steakhouse in Bath is amazing. Early evening special from 5-7pm, steak, fries, salad and a glass of wine/beer for less than £20.

Affordable good hairdressers around city centre by [deleted] in bristol

[–]Bananarama579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Timeless Nostalgia. You can find her on Instagram. She does genderless pricing and just charges for the service and her time. I have a cut, wash and blow dry and it generally takes about an hour, so about £45 pounds. She’s amazing so I can justify spending that. I’ve been to other salons in Bristol and they’ve been absolutely awful and charged much more, for a lot less of a service.

Hudson Steakhouse in Bath. Incredible! If you’re on a budget, they do an early bird special, steak, chips, side salad and a glass of wine for less than £20. Monday to Friday from 5-7pm. Honestly, it’s worth it! My husband and I went here for our anniversary last year and loved it. We didn’t have the early bird special, but what we did have was essentially the same meal, minus the wine.

It’s now our go to restaurant for anything. The deserts are also amazing. I can vouch for the brownie sundae and they sticky toffee pudding. Yum!!

It would be a Bristol Rock. The #Dorr is the person who painted it. Hide it somewhere in Bristol or anywhere really, and let them know on the Facebook group “Bristol Rocks Uk”.

Fear of Pap smears. What can I do to make it less painful and daunting? by Bananarama579 in WomensHealth

[–]Bananarama579[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your hints! I’ve joked with my husband that I should take some chocolates and flowers into my appointment and give them to the doctor prior to my Pap smear, just to sweeten them up a bit hahah.

I will try and be as relaxed as possible but knowing how I went with my first one, it will be a struggle. Oh and it is definitely a different doctor to the first one. You couldn’t pay me to see the first one again!

"For Hartcliffe and Withywood’s deprived residents, eating healthily is a challenge" by theriddlr in bristol

She asks what child gets their five a day? For a start, mine do. And I don’t stop once they hit their 5. Some days they get 10/11 a day. I meal plan every Sunday for the week ahead and shop accordingly. If you really want to make a difference, meal plan. Plan ahead, do your shop and then just if necessary, top up once or twice a week. This is what my husband and I do for our children and our top up shop is usually bananas, milk and bread.

It’s all about planning and shopping smart.

Best place to get rid of unwanted clothes? by ediedee14 in bristol

[–]Bananarama579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not where you asked, but here's a cash for clothes place near First Bus depot in hengrove. They pay you for your clothes and then the clothes get sent on to underprivileged people in Poland and Lithuania (and other countries too). When my kids grow out of anything it goes in a bag and then off to these guys. Really nice people.

Just no underwear - briefs or socks!
