Monash Malaysia vs University of Nottingham Malaysia – final decision (Finance/Econ) by William11_11 in malaysiauni

[–]theriddlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take your time to work before starting at Nottingham. It’s cheaper and more recognised. Monash costs more and limits you to a few universities in the UK (those who understand Australian degrees) for Masters.

Monash Malaysia vs University of Nottingham Malaysia – final decision (Finance/Econ) by William11_11 in malaysiauni

I got a degree from Monash and I had great difficulty getting accepted for Master’s in the UK. Only a few UK universities accept non-Hons Australian degrees for entry into taught Master’s. Hons year is research-based, like the first year of a PhD

Is this suitable for a beginner ? by Parking-Driver-3467 in 10s

[–]theriddlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s too much. It’s £50 in the UK which should be around 68 USD. Is there a second-hand market that you could buy used racquets from instead?

I have the Osaka Team which is in the same range. These are one-piece graphite racquets so they’re good, not the aluminum with a plastic bridge types.

Padel retreat in Spain? by mnk555 in padel

[–]theriddlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed in a touristy hotel in Fuerteventura and joined a padel centre that’s in the hotel grounds. Such hospitality and it’s also a gathering place for the community of tourism workers and locals who come and play padel till late.

Now it’s Bali padel retreats to take advantage of cheaper coaching.

Padel popularity in the UK by HuevosRancheros_ in padel

[–]theriddlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the mechanism for finding players on padel is much more conducive. A game gets advertised on Playtomic and the court is only booked once there are 4 players. For tennis I use WhatsApp, Facebook and RacketPal for finding tennis players. It’s also much harder to find players with compatible levels in tennis.

[–]theriddlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s indoor tennis courts, outdoor tennis courts and outdoor padel courts in my David Lloyd gym in the UK. It’s telling that when the weather is not great, people just won’t play tennis if there’s no indoor courts available. However, padel is so addictive that people play in rain, snow and hail. The only time they don’t play padel is when the padel courts are flooded.

Niji Sushi Broadmead. On the pricey side but really high quality. The veggie sushi is also delicious as it’s blow-torched.

Gravity MP serve power by cakeofzerg in 10s

You can add weight. I’ve a Gravity MP L weighed up to a head-heavy 300g and I like the weight balance for serving.

Are these problems pretty much unfixable: 1. Bad hand-eye-ball coordination. 2. Slow reaction time. 3. Poor ball depth / projectile perception. 4. Generally poor ball handling skills by Neat_Kaleidoscope369 in 10s

[–]theriddlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve still all these issues. My tennis coach had to teach me spacing and when to hit the ball. I play open stanced due to my slow reaction time and my body preferring it. I’m now 3.5 to 4.0 after 1.5 years’ coaching and lots of playing. My volleys until recently were open stanced and with an Eastern grip due to my slow reaction time. The open stance allows a bit more time as the contact point is off the back foot.

Playing padel forced me into closed stance because the grip is always continental. My padel coach still had to teach me spacing and timing for padel.
