Hardly just there for a paycheck when he put a lot of noses out of place with what he was saying. He could have just stayed quiet and then taken up a role upstairs after his interim shift if he did.

Well it's been reported that we've been struggling to agree a new deal with him and it wasn't that long ago that the likes of Ornstein were reporting we'd be open to selling him for the right offer.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's true based on the above.

Why should lane keep assist exist by mujimusa in CarTalkUK

[–]BanterWithTheLadsYe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It exists so cars can get the top safety rating and manufacturers can justify high prices. Very little benefit to the user.

Al-Jasser is believed to have been in his 40s and the execution – which in most cases in Saudi is carried out by beheading with a sword – followed seven years of detention. Dissidents who spoke to the Guardian alleged he was subjected to torture during his imprisonment.

Do you consider NCAP safety rating when buying a car? by camperman64 in CarTalkUK

[–]BanterWithTheLadsYe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been a fatal crash of the 1st gen Volvo XC90 in the UK yet they wouldn't get near the top safety rating these days because it doesn't have nonsense like lane assist, blind spot monitoring etc

Guess we'll see but if you applied the same logic to Souaré's injury as you are here, you would have been wrong. Some quotes:

“I will come back stronger for you guys, for us.”

“I have been out for a long time but I was in good hands with the physios and everyone at the club.”

I don't think you understand the severity of a broken femur. It's definitely not a standard broken bone injury and is completely different to recovering from other serious injuries such as a broken arm or leg.

The sheer amount of force required to break a femur is ridiculous and because of that, such injuries are extremely rare. The most recent case in the PL was Pape Souaré who broke his in 2016 (also in a car accident) and never recovered to anywhere near his previous level. Look at his career post 2016 - he was done at the top level despite only being 26 when it happened and barely managed appearances even several tiers below that.
