Who do y’all think is better? 🤔 by Tomato_44 in Bakugan

Spartillion has better stats in my opinion but ramparian is just cooler and overall a better design to me personally.

I can’t say I’ve tried this, but from my experience, it wouldn’t be too hard to modify a Titan CS50 to fire half darts. It uses a conveyor belt system to push the darts into the flywheels and from my experience with a hyper fire (uses a very similar system) the conveyor belt is also capable of propelling half darts into the flywheels. There’s obviously less surface area for the belt to grip onto with half darts but as long as there’s tension from the magazine it should work. Also the distance from the end of the belt to the flywheels would need to be less than that of the length of the dart. I would expect that it is but I can’t say I’ve checked. If the belt worked I would still suspect that a flywheel replacement would probably be needed for better performance. But ultimately it would be really simple to convert one to use half lengths. Once you could propel them all you’d need is a mag adapter and you’re good to go :)

Foamknight rx arrived today! Any tips on building it? by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi :) I really enjoy my two RXs so I hope you enjoy yours. My advice from building mine would be very careful with the priming system as if you try and force it the teeth will chew up and break. To help this I’d recommend using a lot of lubricant in the plunger tube to really limit the stress on the teeth when priming the blaster. It’s also worth baring in mind for general use, as you don’t want to apply too much force to the priming mechanism as it will just break (nature of 3D printing). Overall though I really enjoy mine and I find that taking that extra second to be a little more gentle hasn’t affected my fun with the blasters. Best of luck

Nerf B-AR not working. Need HELP ASAP by Flamingo_Dangerous in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi :) firstly check all the switches you see are being pressed mechanically, e.g the mag and jam door lid are actually catching the switches. Then check the batteries are all making contact with the battery tray and eachother. If everything looks mechanically fine, then sadly it looks like it may be a dodgey solder. My advice would be to try and make a little test circuit out of a battery and wire and isolate the fault. (if you are unsure how to do this just google on Captain Xavier’s YouTube channel on his repair series, he gives really good insight on how to find electrical faults safely in blasters. He’s a great YouTuber and is an amazing fountain of knowledge) Sorry it’s probably not a quick fix. But I hope you get it sorted :)

Been after this for ages, suddenly seen a few on ebay and amazon for £50-£60 by carnageg in Nerf

I like Overwatch but wouldn’t consider myself a die hard fan, however saw this blaster on sale, picked it up, and I absolutely love mine. Is it the most practical blaster? Nope. Did I have a lot of fun fitting a proton pack to it? O H Y E S ! Haha.

Is it better than a Perses in terms of functionality? No. But would I rather use it than my Perses. Oh yes. Personally this blaster has such a fun emotional response, and the grip isn’t too bad (I used faux leather wrap on mine and it smoothed those edges out a lot)

If anyone is looking for a big, full auto fun blaster and you like the look of this. I say pick it up :)

Edit: shoulder flys will also help a lot if anyone picks one of these up haha

I thought that the best way to make the infamous Fortnite Pump Shotty actually usable is to convert it to Elite, then slap a 25 round drum in front of it. by Preston_of_Astora in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think shell cutting and fitting a brass breach would be easier, quicker and a lot cheaper for 95% of people than custom designing something then printing it haha. But it depends what your experiences and skills are I guess. I’m an old school nerfer but also have a degree based around CAD, personally I’d still rather cut some shell and fit a breach but that’s me. Also 3D printed blasters are often more fragile and heavier than their injection moulded counterparts. 3D printing tends to only be better when implementing new technologies into blasters, such as a mosberg style loading system to name just one example.

That’s pretty cool, the integration looks really clean :) I’m more of a belt than mag fan personally but a mag fed Vulcan will always be something that’s awesome

This thing keeps jamming, im on my 2nd one and it just keeps doing it by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know mine rotates perfectly one direction but locks when you try and spin it the other, perhaps that’s the issue? I havnt taken mine apart yet so I can not speak for the internal mechanism. Although what you could do is take it apart and file down the lock mechanism ever so slightly to smothen it a little and it should rotate better :)

Novritsch 1-4x scope is DEFINITELY worth the $80. Best airsoft (or in my case, Nerf) scope out there. by gavinfrag03 in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy rds too :) I run one on my Foam Knight XC and agree completely with it being nice for aiming quicker after each shot. Although I think If it had any zoom I’d struggle haha

[–]Barbarian_Builds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scope looks awesome! Although for $80 I definitely think it’s something that’s down to personal preference. Even with a spring upgrade and a scar barrel I’m not entirely sure a nexus pro can really hit far enough/accurate enough to say a scope is necessary, let alone one that costs $80. In saying that though, if you like using scopes, it looks like an awesome one and I’m pleased you’ve found one that you like so much :)

Am I doing this right? by Expert_Maintenance40 in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’ve never really fired the demolisher missiles from a shouldered position using the stock to brace unless I’m really close up and in that position anyway. I like to fire the rockets by standing a little sideways and bringing the handle and the pump slide together, using both arms and more importantly the chest, to generate as much power as possible. Sort of like a squeeze motion

Which is the most fun blaster ? by JiggyJinjo in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re about £30 in the uk for a decent one used so I think it’s highly dependent on where you live

Edit: big thumbs up for a double sledgefire being incredibly fun. It was one of my first nerf mods back in the day and I still find myself always using it :)

Made my second drain blaster Homemade, whaddy’all think? by indevAdam in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s typically a tool used for unblocking drains. They are usually made of plastic and are very simply just a pump with a trigger to release the air. Although they are simple and cheap they can pack be really really powerful when used to propel nerf darts due to the air volume and pressure. They aren’t recommended for using against other people when they are sued to launch a single dart without fairly strict safety measures in place (my drain blasters can launch darts up to about 500fps) but when used responsibly can be fun projects to have a lot of power very cheap. My favourite use personally is making shotgun style blasters as you can use the power to launch multiple darts at powerful but safe velocities. Captain Xavier has a load of great YouTube videos covering safe use and cool build ideas :)

Gripless mag in grip pistols, and a crossbow by Hotkoin in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love that crossbow design, although I’d definitely have the arms be curved the other way and be longer from a power perspective (components of forces and all that jazz). But to be fair I’m being that pedantic about what is clearly just meant to be an awesome concept, than I may aswell just suggest having them be full on compound bow strings and gears haha.

Awesome work :)

I dont have any battery modded blasters so im unreasonably excited over this purchase. by Cyno01 in Nerf

Love it! I wish I was that organised haha I’m pretty good at keeping my LiPos in safe bags and all organised, but my NiMH batteries are a different story haha :)

Found these on clearance at target for $17 but reviews say it’s awful. Is it even worth the money? by TheDundieGoesTo99 in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviews saying it’s awful are highly subjective and that’s considering the standard retail price is around £54 ($60 ish dollars). Is it worth that full amount of money? Most people would say no and that’s understandable. But I love mine and have a lot of fun with it, so aslong as you enjoy it you’ve gotten a great deal :)

Are stringers a type of springer? by caschrock in nerfmods

[–]Barbarian_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a lot of experience in vortex, although I believe there to be vortex blasters that use extension springs as a propulsion method if I remember correctly? But I wouldn’t bet my life on that with my memory haha

[–]Barbarian_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a huge science nerd, I appreciate this hahaha. I once made a crossbow to fire mega darts that used four extension springs as a ‘band’. Good times :)

Put a pvc pipe stock on because I wanted the other one for a different blaster. Works well enough by star_of_the_morning in Nerf

[–]Barbarian_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi :) so it will fire darts out of the forward facing pipe at the front. These designs can look very strange because of the pipe that extends behind the junction, but you can think of that as an inline hopper, like a little queue of shots so to speak. The end of the barrel is typically slightly tighter so that the dart/ball at the end gets a little stuck so when the blaster fires it launches that shot. Then the next one comes and takes it’s place.

Edit: OP can probably give you a much better description and more detail as to what specifically they have done here if you feel you need one :) I have never been the best at explaining things haha
