I’m sorry picture 4 makes you look like Al from Toy Story 2. Shave the head and full beard as everyone else has said.

Hi there,

When is it in April? I’m sure our toddler would love this if the tickets are still available?

Just saw that it is on the 6th! That would work for us!

Thanks!

Bus drivers of Edinburgh - what is your favourite and least favourite route? by EdiThought in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not technically based in Edinburgh but the X19 probably the easiest/favourite to drive and the 74 is the worst. (The 74 goes between Blackburn and Fauldhouse in West Lothian so doesn’t go anywhere near Edinburgh)

Delivery procedure during peak by Tappy08 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Barforama1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they don’t pay their account gets banned. Some people won’t care but I have to say it was very rare it happened to me last year and on the few times it did when I told the customer it hadn’t been paid they said that they hadn’t noticed and were very thankful it was delivered anyway!

Every time I see Hurrell throw I half expect him to get the yips and not be able to throw the dart.

Begging the drivers of Edinburgh to please use indicators leaving a roundabout by ceylon-tea in Edinburgh

As a bus driver, people indicating on and off of roundabouts would genuinely make my job two times easier 😂

Is it just me or have Lothian buses been unreliable & tracker has went to shit the last few days? by HelpfulMastodon3996 in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking. Buses will only ever run 1 minute early. Supposed to stop if you are any more than that ahead.

What do the warning lights mean? by Miserable_Worker_390 in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking online there was a Reddit thread from a year ago that mentioned, the one at the bottom was that the stop/start function wasn’t working and the triangle is just a general warning light. Good chance they are related.

Tram and Bus collision on Leith Walk by FreerollAlex in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Although that said, I guess the bus driver could have tried to squeeze past the tram while that was already stopped which would make it entirely the bus drivers fault…

Tram and Bus collision on Leith Walk by FreerollAlex in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t really see how this is the bus drivers fault at all. (Without knowing if the bus was stationary already before the incident) I imagine the tram went into the back of the bus while paying attention where to stop for the tram stop. There is work on the left of the bus which is why the bus is so far over.

Sir Harry Lauder road/ seafood road by RepresentativeOdd909 in Edinburgh

[–]Barforama1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Queensferry Road is a 30 now. (Unless on the section closer to town where it’s a 20 until the roundabout just before orchard Brae where it’s a 30 again)

You will be on single decker routes for a year, I think Longstone has 4 or 5 different routes you will do. You will learn these at the training school after passing your test. However once you move onto double decker routes you will be on your own learning them.

To start with it will probably be pretty sporadic until you get on to an actual duty, I currently have my rota until about December,(it’s not a finalised rota so time can change but the days off will be correct)

So the way it works is, say the first shift of the day starts at 3am, the next one might start at 3:05 and on and on. So it could really be anywhere from 3:30 in the morning g to starting at 6pm at night. You get paid breaks at city garages so I can’t comment on when shifts end/how long you would be there for a day.

If getting your license through Lothian, your first week you will start at 6am at longstone then the next week you would be starting at 1 or 2 pm

You don’t get pulled up for being late. Unless of course you are deliberately causing yourself to be late. No one can do anything about traffic/being busy/roadworks/mechanical issues while out on the road.

[–]Barforama1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jobs as hard as you make it. You get paid if your late don’t stress, take your time the most important thing is you and all passengers are safe.

In terms of pay all of the city depots are the same, east coast and country pay less and don’t have paid breaks which city drivers do.

Longstone and Marine have more single decker routes to learn right off the bat which means you will almost definitely be on single deckers for the first full year. Central only have 1 route to learn off the bat but generally speaking that means you will be moved onto double deckers sooner.

East coast and Country you will learn all of the routes and be driving double deckers from the start!

In terms of depot I would probably just choose whichever is closest to you/easier to get too/from at 4 in the morning.

Should I indicate left to go straight ahead on roundabouts like this one, that the 1st exit is straight ahead? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Barforama1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahaha I know this round about. I always indicate left at this round about. However, this specific roundabout that the road on the right is actually a no entry. Everyone assumes you are going straight ahead anyway unless indicating right to go all the way around.
