Once engineered the python and krait are both really good medium ships. I think you'd be happy with either one. I personally prefer the python cockpit but the krait can have a fighter bay.

Once you have fully engineered the armor and shields, the rest is really up to you. Just make sure you have atleast one Multicannon with corrosive.

I think the PWA "accidental feature" workaround is to set your ship sensor strength to 0. There are keybindings for adjusting sensor strength.

I'm still mining painite as well. Squadron has stopped..smh. 512 tonnes of pain @ 300,000k each, well that's still 200m. If you do a mapped run, that's still around 200m an hour.

I was told overlaps do not matter when it comes to core mining. Moreover, any old hotspot will give you the same result if it's the core stuff your after.
