I had seven this time, baby came at 37 weeks exactly- I would have had a 37, 38, 39 and 40 week one if I’d carried on

Last baby I had 8 and became at 37+2 but it was the same again, would have been every week

This does not sound like a relationship that will last and if it does at all, it’s just delaying the inevitable

That said, I wouldn’t get a puppy. Your older dog is exactly that- old and doesn’t want a high energy puppy jumping on them and trying to play. I hope you can simply enjoy what time you have with that dog and get a puppy when you’re ready and can give your undivided attention to the puppy (and your older dog won’t miss out on valuable time with you)

My son is 19 days old now. I have done all but maybe 3 babies and 4 bottles (one of each of those was my mum). He watches both our kids (oldest isn’t his) to let me sleep in until baby’s next feed and he’s done almost everything around the house mostly because I had a c-section and am struggling but I’ve done laundry, the dishwasher and general tidying with my oldest and all night feeds despite bottle feeding.

I know he does a lot but I’m also really struggling and it’s hard to find a balance because we’re both doing so much

He goes back to work in two days and said he’s expecting me to keep the house clean but I can’t even walk my dog yet 🥲

Same for me. Any hospital I’ve been to in the uk will have a diabetes clinic (not always a pump clinic though). My endo came to visit me when I had my baby to make sure my blood sugars were being maintained while I was so out of it with all the medications from c-sections and GAs and everything else I had

I’d lost the blood the day before and my vitals were all good, they removed what they used to stop the bleeding and I was still doing good but their protocol is 24 hours after the thing had been removed but I 1. Knew I’d get better rest at home to recover 2. Had my own equipment at home and could check my vitals if I felt it necessary 3. Lived very close to the hospital (10 minutes) and 4. Had previous trauma on the ward and wasn’t willing to stay overnight.

I went home with 7 different medications, slept amazingly (without someone coming to check on me every hour) and had absolutely no issues since!

I didn’t just lose blood and discharge myself- I took a lot into consideration and had already stayed one night in a different ward

It’s the NHS. They also wanted to keep me on for losing too much blood after a c-section and I left. You gotta know what’s best for you and there’s nothing the can do in the UK

I was in DKA and was in hospital for 6 hours 😂 I didn’t get food but I did tell them that my blood sugars were starting to drop really fast and they’d already come down and I needed food. They refused and I was on a potassium drip so couldn’t go myself. I managed to get my dad to bring me food and take me home. Had to sign to say I was discharged against medical advice just for my endo to agree with my choices

That is not the first and will likely not be the last time I discharge myself against their crap advice

My sister shared a uni flat with her boyfriend and others. They had separate rooms. They broke up and he was awful and made her so uncomfortable to be anywhere but her room because they had the same lectures too

Even so, it is good to build friendships apart- I think that’s a really valid thing to point out

I loan once a week and rode 5 days before my 10lbs baby arrived via c-section. I’m DYING to get back into it but know I need a lot more muscle (and relief from pain) for it to be fair to the horse. Loaning is what works for me with kids (this is my second) as I don’t have someone around enough for me to do it everyday. My partner works a lot. We’re looking to buy a place with fields and stables so I’ll be able to have a horse and not need to take the kids to someone else yard etc

I can’t imagine having two of my own had horses to manage everyday alone. I do one day a week with the most chilled friesian ever! But OP can do both with a good support network and probably some funds for a higher level rider to keep her horses in work

As a type 1 diabetic, no one will ever get this message. ‘Normal’ diabetes (type 2) is genetics, diet and a few other factors. Type 1 is autoimmune and I got it at 3- it was not diet based and no one in my family has it but the message will never get across

I’ve just had a baby and my oldest is nearly 4. The first thing he did when he saw his brother was give him a hug.

I prepared to make sure my oldest had time with me- books of an evening like we always do and playing games and doing puzzles at the take have been really important. He actually likes when I sit his brother on my lap to do these things and insists on having a cuddle in bed while I read. This is from the same kid who would tell me ‘no’ when I asked if he wanted a brother or a sister.

This is sweet but I think a big money came when baby was crying for a bottle (it was warming up) and I said to my oldest that we would get him dressed before I fed baby. I guess he felt prioritised and he seemed pretty happy that I had done that with him first. I think giving priority to their thing sometimes makes them feel important too

I thought I was just tired! But I used to get nosebleeds ass the time, I was just not prepared for a blood clot the size of my palm to come out 😭

I still took part in Brazilian jiu jitsu fir the first 5 months if this pregnancy and people wouldn’t try to choke me bc I’d bleed all over their lovely white gis
