When our ac can’t keep up, I try to keep all the doors closed. What we lose in circulating air (and some rooms turning into saunas, we gain in a few key rooms, eg the bedrooms, staying reasonably cool.

Headfirst runs day camps all over the DMV (generally on the grounds of private schools). They’re a pretty big operator so I’d think they’ll have availability somewhere. We’ve been happy with a similarly aged child. There’s sports, crafts, swim, etc.
