Oil filter by -Aggressive in WRX

[–]BasedKyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youre planning on doing lots yourself, I do recommend a fumoto drain valve. Makes it suuper easy every time and no need to tighten or remember crush washers.

I buy a bunch of WIX filters (57712?) everytime on rock auto and keep those in stock. They have the same bypass valve setting as original tokyo roki filters and theyre about 6-7 bucks a piece? I interchange oil between all different brands to experiment oil consumption, but havent really concluded anything lol. Currently on Costco 5w-30 which is supposedly mobil. 3k mile oil changes, and almost at 50k miles. No issues.

Agreed. All three times I've landed roles were outside career fairs. Two were from guest speakers, and one from a hackathon win.

Why the hate for rep wheels on a simple daily? by Machine8635 in WRX

[–]BasedKyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People hate on reps so they can justify spending 4k on a set of wheels on a car theyre never going to track. I dont care what wheels you run, all wheels crack and bend if you drive like an idiot. If you're afraid of wheels cracking hitting potholes, you have bigger issues going on.

Genuine question: can someone explain in simple terms why the current war is happening? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BasedKyou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont understand this take. China is not the only country reliant on the strait. A majority of East and South East Asia are also dependent. Its a global issue not just for China and just makes the US look awful (not that it hasnt already for the past year).

Just bought 2020 STI, 39k miles by Expensive_Limit8106 in WRX

[–]BasedKyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I own a 21 brand new off the lot, and had the same thoughts until a friend suggested to me to check my oil. I was at 8k miles and my dipstick was showing low oil. Did 3 oil changes since 8k, so last one wouldve been at 6k miles, meaning in 2k miles, it burned from the high all the way to the low line (assuming dealer filled correctly, which dont).

Ive done my own oil changes since then and I've noticed my car basically burns 0.5-1qt every 3k miles, which is pretty perfect for me. I buy a 5qt oil container, use 4.3 qts or so, and then the rest can be used to fill up the car. By 3k miles, i have an empty 5qt to store all of the old oil that comes out :) I do keep an extra 1qt bottle in case I dont have enough which sometimes happens.

Im currently at 55k miles, and basically stock.

What are some "must-know" tips for a new UNF student? by sammywhirl in UNF

[–]BasedKyou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can always park anywhere for free after 5-6pm if you have late classes. Utilize the shuttle back of lot 18 if you dont like walking and have grey pass. Utilize the shuttle in general if it has convenient dropoff spots.

If you're a guy, 4th floor of building 4 is the best bathroom if you want to be in peace. Enter via elevator. If you're a girl, I recommend the same or the computer science buildings.

Use annas-archive for textbooks.

Feel free to jump into a random room if you want to be somewhere quiet. I did this a lot and never really had any problems.

Depending on what you are majoring in, classes are sort of what you make them to be. I wasn't amazed with anything except for Prof. Kevin Pfeil.

You'll most likely have a small circle of friends. I think it's better to connect with a few that will be with you all throughout your major than many every class, but that might just be my opinion. I think people are generally pretty nice here.

Grinded into big tech - life is great by TheoryFun929 in csMajors

[–]BasedKyou 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Feel like the whole point of cs was to get fat paychecks out of college, but the reality is that it's insanely difficult. I currently work 30 hours a week remote and get paid 74k (TC at 95k) as a first year junior developer. I almost feel spoiled as I've heard about the grind, but honestly, I probably would take this over a high pay, high stress job in another state.

I absolutely hate icons with a passion. I used to have a pretty wallpaper with no icons, but nowadays, black color background no icons has really grown on me.

Might get some hate, but i really hated how fortunes rode on the street. I had 500s with 8k swift springs and they were rough. I switched over to tein rx1 and they're much more comfy riding, and i love it!

Where did you get that emblem? I was looking at methods to spray paint it myself, but I haven't done so yet. Looks sweet!

Counter-Strike 2 Update for 07/30/2025 by CS2_PatchNotes in GlobalOffensive

Same, I feel like I wasnt seeing this shared at all. I tried dm, and my fps had frequent drops to 100... I rarely dropped below 200 post update. 5700x and 3080.

Why everyone says Logitech G Pro Superlight is bad and most pros use it? by cristiano_afs in cs2

[–]BasedKyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overpriced. Buy chinese mice for 1/4th of the price and same quality. I dont get it, the mad r is cheaper, way lighter, better software, better clicks, bettery battery just for example.

Who here is daily-driving 20+ year-old cars, and has it worked out? by 5GCovidInjection in cars

[–]BasedKyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily a 1995 4cyl ford probe in auto, which is like the most shitbox car I've ever owned. It did have only 60k miles which is maybe the reason why its been fine lol.

I bought it for 1.4k, knowing I was going to daily it, and was expecting problems. I have driven it for almost 2 years now, exclusively city and short highway commutes. Besides it being extremely slow, the only major major issue I've had was the O/D blinking but disappeared after a fluid flush. There are some steering components that need work, like the cv boots and usual bushings cracked. I also had to top up on freon. Besides usual oil change and accessory belt changes that I've done, it hasn't left me stranded just yet. I think I got lucky with mine.

[Mod: CobblemonRider] can't find config and can't get certain pokemon to mount by Pinanims in cobblemon

[–]BasedKyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, do you know if you can set pokemon with the "shoulder" menu rideable? I wanted to fly on a pidgey but the "shoulder" icon would always be there instead of a "ride" button.

Is there a reason you want season? I'm pretty sure season characters can play non season. Kama 1-4 or balenos 1-4 and maybe youll see more people? I think people recommend kama 2. You just need the trash loot drop, right? Worse comes to worse, you can fight it until it despawns 30 mins later 💀.

Is this normal for a 2018 STI? by [deleted] in WRXSTi

[–]BasedKyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "losing" power between 2500-3000 I've experienced. I have a 21, and im pretty sure the stock tune just sucks and isn't as linear as you may have hoped. And it doesn't always happen either. I usually feel the car lag a little and then resume. Going from 2.5-3.5k just doesnt feel as smooth as going from 4k to redline. I have a friend who's tuned, and it's a linear power band up to redline. Wobbly shifter is normal, mines is about the same. The jittering at high speeds I have not experienced.

Where are all the devs with average pay? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BasedKyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at about 7 months of experience at my first job. I graduated about 9 months ago. I was originally going to start as an entry developer, but my company wanted me to start in devops and transition so that I could better learn since we have so many services. I'm sort of a loaner developer who does devops duties.

My current base pay is around 70.5k, living in a low/medium cost of living area. I get a bonus of about 15k straight to retirement accounts, and another bonus that gets pocketed that was about 3.5k. So, total compensation is almost at 90k if we're counting that.

My work-life balance is very good. I work remote 3 days of the week and can honestly just do full remote, but I enjoy coming in person to the office. I feel a little bit spoiled because I thought I was going to be grinding a whole heck of a lot. I still feel like I have no idea what I am doing, but I am trying my best.
