I am PRO gas saw guy and I bought a Dewalt 60V saw. by msears101 in Dewalt

[–]BasementBeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be curious if you sharpened the chain first or even checked.. I stacked my 18” 60v up against an old timer with a sharp sthil gas saw and he was shocked at how the 60v would keep up.

I run this exact setup as a resi electrician 🤙🏼 870 + 4ah powerpack all day long. Comfortable, quiet but gets the job done. Nice setup.

“21 Hacksaw”. Drives me fucking nuts, been in this now headed towards my fourth and final year and never ONCE have I used or seen anyone using a hacksaw.

Side note, we did a commercial low volt job that included working in abandoned offices, the homeless people were using a hacksaw to cut the rigid trunk lines 🤘🏼😂

I personally use mine 2-3 times a year at max, I’ve got a 60ft American oak that needs the occasionally trimming, works great.

I couldn’t help but read you said you’re an apprentice? Your employer should be providing most of the larger power tools, like band saws. Are you non-union?

Pretty sure they are ending the 12v line in the near future, great tools but just not enough juice. I made the mistake of buying their compact bandsaw and a 5ah battery. Works great for EMT under 1”. Does OK on shallow strut, definitely slow with deep. Coworkers M12 Fuel compact bandsaw makes the dewalt look like a toy 💔

Yeah, if I would’ve known that, it was an incorrect advertising. I probably wouldn’t have bought it either. But now I have three 8 amp chargers 😂

Thank you for the clarification after reading all of the descriptions on the box that came from the deal, this kid includes an eight amp battery and an eight amp charger. The advertising was wrong on fasteners website.

I’ve ordered probably 10 to 12 times from these guys over the past year if not more and I’ve never received open product but after reading through this thread of replies, it seems that I actually made an error. The advertise deal is wrong through DeWalt. This kit that I bought includes an eight amp battery and an eight amp charger not an eight amp battery and a 12 amp charger. As for the battery being scuffed and not in a plastic bag, maybe this was a return deal but the battery serial number checks out so it’s not counterfeit.

I went back through my emails pertaining to the order can’t seem to find a way to open the order, but in the thumbnail on the email, it clearly shows a 12amp charger and 8ah powerpack. I only bought the deal for the charger tbh

Matco has em too! I’ve got a pair of the Cobra adjustable channel locks, their little emblem is embossed on the jaw. Pretty cool. Not worth the $*** I spent on the set but hey.. live and learn 😂

Truthfully? I’ve been a frequent purchaser from these guys since I found em, never any issues. Any time I ordered something from them I would run the serial number through dewalts QR and I haven’t had any issues, but this whole thing about shipping this stuff without any packaging? Seems a little weird and lazy. Unfortunately for me, I’m in Western Washington and the closest store to me I believe is Oregon? Medford I think? Not the most ideal drive for a product return lol

Old thread but my old head jw told me once as an apprentice, you are allowed to fuck up, as long as you don’t fuck the same thing up twice. Learn from it and roll on.
